Unhappy

Gutted for you mate.

I'm looking for a Jap STi now.

The RE070's will be coming off until the summer or will be saved for track days.

Hope it gets sorted out okay for you.

Nathan..

Muddy wet roundabout + daft tyres + signpost
yes agree the RE070 are not very good in the wet but are excellent in dry conditions...

security issue here:
consider where you take it because cowboys are more likely to make a copy of your keys than other places. there was a definite link to a particular place where people had work done on their scoobies, then a month or two down the road the owners get their car nicked...coincidence? maybe but a very big coincidence!!!

good luck!

Simon Lau,

Good point. Always reprogram your keys when you get the car back which will ensure that only your fobs will work!

That won't stop them having fun without proper warm ups etc while they have the car :-o

Never looked up close to this part of a new age car PC, but that looks very much as though it's part of the shell itself rather than an extension. If this is the case, the bodyshop would repair the existing sill rather than cut the whole thing out and weld in another.

Arranged the repair today £550 inc gen new door + sideskirt. All I have to sort is the suspension I reckon another £500 tops I am happier now in a funny sort of way. Anyone got a spare wheel they want to sell? I will be back on the road within 2 weeks. Has anyone had any experience with coilovers? which are best?
TIA
Jamie

Good price on the repair. If it's a good job, you've got a bargain there.

Not sure whether the JDM STi has the same struts/springs as the UK car. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they're different, although that's purely a guess.

It might be worth trying Autospares as they're Kayaba stockists and might have the part numbers for the OE replacements.

Beyond that try the usual suspects (Grade A, Glenburgie, TEG etc.), who may also be able to help you out with the wheel. Should also be able to supply the trailing and lateral links if they're knackered too.

STi wheels come up fairly frequently in For Sale, but they tend to be in sets of four. You'll probably find that most Subaru dealers will sell you one, although that'd be at a premium price.

The repair is from someone who I have tried and tested and have been happy with results. I got the door and trailing arm from Grade A today. But I suspect other parts are fooked such as strut but Grad A have only new and at £350 + vat I am seriously considering coilovers but I have read about rattling has anyone got any sugestions
Also Have you any links or phone numbers folr the other suppliers
cheers
Jamie

Problemchild,

Don't know whether this helps but when I took my JDM STi9 into Palmers for 18's fitted they had it up on the ramps. He said the drop links, ARB's and suspension were all different to a UK spec STi car.

Damian.
