Your insurance report would have been fine. A flash means "Look out I'm here" according to the Highway code. Look at Highway code rule 91 in particular.

I seem to recall from the dim and distant past when my old man had an MG that MG drivers waved at each other, but only when the hood was down and you sported a Jackie Stewart cap.

Perhaps a similar protocol could be established for Scooby drivers?

Its the Jackie Stewart cap that puts me off. I have sudden visions of the rot setting in and string backed gloves appearing, then the pipe, washing the car on Sundays, driving at 50 on motorways.... Oh god, we could all become Sunday motorists with TOGs stickers in the back windows.

Put me down now before it happens.
