Thanks guys, I value your opinions, just wanted to do something radical for a change.

Paul, the intention was to run two uppipes, one either side of the gearbox and common them up and taking off the external WG pipework. Granted, header length would be increased but not by much and they would be both equal length.

I have tried one of Marks rotated up-pipes with my Garret and it does fit the new age car (tried it on the spare engine). Down pipe is somewhat different though(mainly due to the APS system centre section length) and Gearbox being slightly larger.

I will have a think about layout, turbo position etc based on your comments. Cheers

Conrad

What detrimental effect will fitting my large Garret to my 2litre have apart from being laggy? I could run it temporarily until my MD321 exhaust housing is moddified.

I think I will need new oil feed line, water supply and return pipes and a remap...Have I missed anything.

The problem with using 2 up-pipes is that it will join cylinders from each bank. being only 180 degrees apart there is some exhaust overlap, which can cause cross contamination of inlet charge. You can minimuse this by having long primaries but I don't know how you will manage to plumb that it. However it's still worthy of investigation.

Then you have to join the 2 up-pipes in a sensible fashion on top of the gearbox, don't know how that will go.

If you want to be different, how about putting the turbo where the ABS normally sits? Short headers, but you have to route past engine with downpipe.

How about this?

Maybe you should email Jun and ask them if they would do it differently if they had to start again!

Paul, those pictures look like the same turbo set-up (rotated) like the Wallis Wagon® although its tilted up more than the required 15 degrees.

Yes after some thought conventional rotated mount is better all round I think. Will have to think of a different twin core intercooler solution.

SHould be easy enough to run the pipe over/around throttle body and to the front just as before. It only needs 90 degrees of total bend which is very little.

Paul, i would'nt need to change my APS intercooler if I / or some one else can come up with a way to split the intercooled charge evenly from one pipe into two? Cost savings
