FAO: NewAgeWrx - You have mail re: the spoiler...

By the way, all the guys who got the supersonic, what do you think?? Graham gave mine a few twists to set it to the correct tension (my dumpvalve) did everyone else get the same and does it seem to be correct once on the car?

Cheers

Steve777 I thought you didn`t like dump valves????

By the way I now have the Prodrive springs fitted, vast improvement!! Do you now find the mudflaps grinding on the ground???
I don't like them really, but having said that I've only had a cheapo crappy forge in the past

At least this one seems to be very good quality and the spring tension can be adjusted by srewing the top up or down.

Glad you like the springs, told you it would be a big improvement

Yes the mud flaps do catch, but they did with the standard springs. Obviously you weren't trying hard enough before

A few points:

- was it really necessary to abuse the swear word filter as you have?

- I believe you were offered £395 based on the Phase 2 (Eibach fitment + geo) + powerflex kit (part + fitting) which would normally cost £465 for £395, thats £70 saved which equates to approx 15% saving, correct? Now baring in mind they were discounting parts not labour, thats pretty good deal?!

- I'm puzzled why you think an Open day would be an ideal time to actually fit anything, baring in mind the number of people that would be (and were) in the work shop.

- And finally, I heard part of your first and second discussion with Paul regarding this, you have a very odd way of bartering with people

I think a lot of people got what they wanted, I was there, I drove 150 miles each way, ordered some bits with a discount.

S'pose there will always been one though.

Just read this after the weekend..

Firstly thankyou to everyone who came and supported the day.. and to all the team that gave up their days off to come in and work. I appreciate it.

Nexuas.. You were good enough to put my mail on the net.. Pretty much in it's entirety. I cannot see the paragraph that mentions where we will fit for you.. or the time of your appointment?? You say you were led to believe that the workshop would be offering fitting. This was never mentioned anywhere. Tell you what.. find me a mail or advert that states this and I will send you all the parts you wanted FREE!!. As you are basing the crux of your whinge on this point.. I would ask you to do this publicly... or concede the point

You asked for a quote in the week.. and mentioned you would be up to "come and haggle"..Not once did you confirm your actual attendance or request fitting. Had you done so we could have explained again that no fitting was to be done on the day. We had made this clear on at least two occasions here on Scoobynet.

If you mail a hotel for a room rate and availability??.. do you just turn up a week later and hope there's one left.. or mail/call to confirm?/... I suspect the latter.

It may be an idea to spend the suspension money on sorting the speedo out however. You told me on saturday that you had travelled from Bracknell to South Nottingham.. and I discover today that this this a 350 mile trip . Perhaps your sense of direction is akin to your sense of realism.. and charm . It was 240 miles round when i did it 2 weeks ago.. Mind you 350 does sound better I must admit......

You also seem to have a problem with us making money.. Businesses do that sadly. Being a limited company.. you can even SEE how much we make too . It's all at Companies House. If you have found a business that isn't interested in being profitable.. enjoy the value whilst they are there. It won't be for long.

You really are quite a piece of work.. Not only did you try to kick off when I explained that we couldn't fit items because a. You hadn't booked. b. we weren't doing fitting and c. I would have to ask everyone to leave to comply with health and safety. You didn't seem adverse to this!! .. You then insisted that a member of staff stayed after the open day had finished (3pm) and then commence the 4.5 hours work on your car .. My staff have families and home lives too!. Besides... you would have been late for work if that was a genuine concern eh?

Your turn of phrase also made it pretty apparent that unless you got the deal that YOU wanted you would run crying to disgrace us on the net. Fine. If thats your negotiation style. Don't put a gun to my head like that.. I really don't want to conduct business with anyone who uses a "glass in the babyfood" mentality to achieve what they want.

I was nothing but polite and courteous with you.. many people overheard the conversation and commented on your manner however. You picked a labour intensive job.. so the discount would not have been as impressive as an all goods order. It makes no business sense to give man-hours away, when we are struggling to wrestle the waiting list down from 2 weeks. Every hour given away is an hour that can't be sold again.

I read with interest that you are thinking of going to Powerstation. They will doubtless do a fantastic job for you. Normally it pains me greatly to lose a customer to a competitor. In this one instance I sincerely wish both parties many years of future happiness.

Paul

Not only did you try to kick off
AT NO POINT DID I BECOME VIOLENT OR ABUSIVE TO YOU AND I WOULD LIKE YOU TO MAKE THAT PUBLICLY CLEAR

No I think I was finding you attitude a little unhelpful, and so I left the conversation to cool off. (Quite a sensible thing to do? I would have left at that point had it not been for one of your mechanics, (Becky I think) talking to me and convincing me to come back in)

Think that quote needs as much calibration as my speedo?

And I explained to you that I had been sent on two lengthy diversion, one due a bridge being closed and the other due to an accident.

As for my style of bartering, you offered me a price, I was not happy with it so I did not offer to buy it. End of story. No glass in babyfood

Paul and everyone at TSL.

Sorry again for not being able to make it to the open day but as I mentioned when I was up last I did have other things on at the weekend.

It would have been nice to meet up again and have a nice civil chat and a laugh with everyone there.

If you could let me know when the free man hour offer is on along with the dicounted parts and the "turn up anytime and we will fit it straight away" (I assume that will include Sundays) then I would appreicate it. I would like some injectors for 50p and a headers for one pound please!

No I did not insist, I asked whether that was a possibility. (Think I was searching for a comprimise) And yes if you had of done this then yes I would have been late for work and so it was not really a solution, I think I was looking for some willingness on your part to help sort the missunderstanding out.

Believe me had we been able to come to an understanding and worked out an comprimise deal, which left us both happy, then I would probably have filled this much web space up praising your company.

As it happens we did not come to a deal we were both happy with

I am happy to conceed that no where was I given direct information that you would be fitting on the day...However I will say in my defence it does not say in the advert on your website or in the thread directly about the open day that the workshop would not be open for any fitting services.

If you have had to inform other people that you are not fitting on the open day, then it may have become clear that others (ie. Me) would have been lead to believe that the same was true?

I think it is a little unrealistic to expect everyone in the country who has never been to one of your open days or even visited your establishment to understand the setup and the way the events are run. I feel it maybe prudent in next years publicity for the event to have somehwere written that you are unable to carry out any work on the day?

If you wish I will delete my posts from the previous couple of pages

Cool

Any chance of an ECU re-map for £2.50 and a blackies egg.

In all seriousness maybe a few telephone calls with clear discussion from both parties about what was expected and what was actually possible could have stopped the confussion that ensued. The reliance on E-Mail in this ever increasing world of technology has a lot to answer for.

Its Good to Talk.

Ps. I have to add my backing to TSL they have been very heplfull in the past and have always delivered what they offered.

Whilst on the subject of what was/and wasnt said when dealing with TrentSaabLtd.

When I bought my spoiler extentions from you. You DID tell me the price, You DID tell me the delivery time, you DID say you would paint and fit them.

You DID'NT tell me that when fitted they would make normal members of the public 'Stop in thier tracks, point and laugh out loud, stamping their feet, and urinating in their pants'.

Any chance of a re-fund........

PS. Ive never had a 'haggle' with you when making a purchase, can you back date 'haggles'?

Nexuas, I have edited your version of TSL as it is potentially libellious. I understand your frustrations, but please ensure that what you do post is factual.

Trouser also I have edited your post accordingly as you have decided to turn a username into an insult.

In future, please keep arguments factual, non-abusive and that the key phrase at times can be IMHO.

Regards,

Michelle.

I cant help but feel a little sorry for you dude....very long trip, very long

I work in Graphics and advertising, and EVERYDAY i deal with issues regarding copy, you have to be 100% clear on what you are offering.
I know of ALOT of companys do more buisness by leaving out information like that, becuase once the customer is there..they normaly buy something, now before i get hounded, i have never said that TSL did this, ive not seen the advert or the copy, so this is not company specific...got that...good.

I totaly understand that TSL could not efectivly have an "open workshop" policy and a fitting day...H&S would close them down before they open'd...lol.....

I personaly would not take my car to TSL for a couple of reasons...

1) Its Miles away for me ..lol

2) HAve you seen what they did to the "perfect" 22b...lol

only joking guys, have a good chat with you at Japfest this year....top guys, plenty of time to chat, and took time to explain things to me a lanugage i understand........and for what it was " an awsome bit of Promo work" the 22b did you proud...awsome workman ship throughout, always had a big crowd round it..

TSL rep is a good one, so it looks like a big miss-comunication..TSL backed up there claim, with a free parts offer ( cant say fairer than that ) and you have cooled off a tad, and shell made a few quid out of the day..

other wise

12 paces and fire

merry Christams everyone, and to all a happy newyear.

TSL you win - other dude you lose!

Why drive all that way and spend all that time and cash to get some parts worth a couple of hundred squids!?!!? MUHAHAHA IF you wanted to get em fitted you should have checked and got it booked in, but I can see from your quote that you'd rather chance it on the day etc which is fine but not if it don't work out as you hoped.

PS - What did the sales guy say when he took the p*ss outta ya, must of been a winner

RE: a beef with TSL, the guy should be allowed to post he`s not happy shouldnt he?
otherwise how does a community begin to learn about firms if we`re only allowed to post the good stuff..?
After Nexaus posted a gripe, another gripe materialised, without Nexaus` post this other gripe may not have come forward.
Then we get a situation like the scooby-parts (apologies to the good and honourable version, hell-fire and damnation to the bad mob from Ireland)
Without Stavros` first post the others wouldnt have come forward and added value to the complaint.
on the other hand:
TSL should be allowed to retort, otherwise its a one sided arguement isnt it..?
those who are quick to jump on one side or another should really take a look at themselves, no ones saying this or that, other than a guy went somewhere and left unhappy.
simple.
TSL (as anyone can see from the dealer forum) have many, many satisfied customers, now and again; an otherwise brilliant (?) firm may have an unsatisfied client, and as a % of total custom this may only be 0.00001%. I dont know.
call it advancement or devolution (depending on your take of things), but the advent of the web and BBS message boards means that information can be circulated in minutes, opinions can be formed and communicated far quicker than ever before, its tricky.

As long as the facts are stated and the truth adhered too, then is there reason to deny a soapbox to stand on...?

finally, where a post is edited other than by the user, would it be possible for the mods to highlight (or at least make a reference to) the edited section, it can change the whole context of a post inadvertantly making it mean something almost entirely different).

Thank you
Peanuts....

Now, lets all sit back and watch the factually correct and opinionated fight ensue

This is my 4th tank of ultima, well it was half way down the M1 on the way back, and to be honest, I have not really noticed any gains in performance, I imagine if there were any gains to be made, they would come on in a very slow gradual build up, and so you would not percieve them over the period of time it occured. The same can be said for the green pannel filter I had fitted, this seamed to give no real noticable gains on its own. (Which came from TSL, and which I had to wait two weeks for as first I was told it was out of stock and would be sent at the start of the following week when they came in, but two weeks latter I phoned up and they had lost the original order. However to compensate me for my trouble, and without me asking or demanding it, they posted it that day and knocked the delivery charge off. That is probably shades of the TSL which everyone is so quick to stand up and defend, and in that case I was happy with the solution they provided)

I am not an unreasonable man!!!

My 2p worth: -

For TSL
I have been there once. Had a fantastic day, pleased as punch wih the mods and thought everyone was great. With regard the haggling, I think compared to many tuners/dealers the workshop time is charged at a very competitive rate for the expertise you have working on your car.

Against TSL
When I read the open day invite I didn't even stop to think that it would mean the workshop must be closed for fitting. It makes sense of course but perhaps should be stipulated a little more clearly, especially as some people will be open day newbies.

Lastly, regardless of who said what by email. There is no way I would travel even 50 miles without being 100% clear about what was/was not being done whilst I was there!

Cheers

Molds

Edit: Forgot to ask what the claim of the TSL zorst quality being bad is all about? I am trying to organise a swap of my Scoobysport back box for a Firestorm at the moment.

bit the bullet and ring Trouser in the morning when you both have had time to calm down.
See what you can both come up with
Once you have been to TSL and had work done you will see why they are booked solid for TWO weeks.
EveryOne at TSL is more than helpful for anything.
This is a family firm and as family firms are built on repualtion you will see why TSL are the better option than the main dealer.. where you are just a number!
Even Graham (Pauls Dad) knows my girlfriends name!!!! how many places can you say that!?!?

I think its time you need to come up again and see what your can turn into... get it TSL'd not just TLC'd!

Peanuts all I edited was an alternative version of TSL which was in italics on Nexuas' post and on Trouser's I edited Nexuas' username to it's original non-abusive form.
