My Dealers says that he is being held over a barrel, same as all the others . Subaru Uk has told them that they MUST buy and register an 03 legacy model, just to "qualify" to get one LTD Edition. !

So, that will not impress the dealer network again, so you may not see many in the showrooms till all the old legacies are sold, due to new model comming out.

So, you may end up having to buy the missus a legacy as a shopping car, simply to get your hands on one of these!

I should think it will based on the same limited edition DCCD-A model that the rest of Europe are getting
Should have:
• Driver Controlled Centre Diff with Automatic Mode
• Mechanical rear diff
• 13.1 Quick steering rack
about time us brits had all the toys the japs have (officially)

Never mind the Japanese market, the car that Iain's talking about is an EU car with EU type approval...

Question

Having owned an STI8 PPP and driven an FQ300 there is no competition, the FQ wins hands down in all areas. The FQ felt like how the next generation P1 should.

My mates going to set up counselling sessions for EVO owners. Apparently there is a lot of money to be made on these guys.

They all think their cars look as good as a Ferrari
Inside they feel the quality inside matches a top of the range Bentley
The handling is on par with a Formula One car

and it does more miles to the gallon than a Saxo 1.1

To top it off they are all Australian. They dont know when they been given a good beating

Having test driven an FQ300 and an STI8 with PPP I bought the Sti.

The FQ300 was simply dissapointing, in my opinion, so there you go, differing views prove that comparisons are inconclusive!

I spoke to my dealer who said there is a Solberg Special Edition, it will be a Jap spec STI with DCCD and there are going to be 500 available. International Motors (IM) are going to remap them to run on 97 RON but the suspension set up is as per the Jap car.

Also, IM have got 200 old Legacy's to move so it's 1 Legacy to get 1 Solberg. This is typical IM marketing which does pi$$ the dealers off big time. There is no realease date on the Solberg, March has been mentioned by IM to my dealer.

I'll be glad when IM are history, not long!! then we can have proper STI's (UK Spec C's)

we have been guaranteed 4 solbergs with another 5 to follow due to the fact we have just kitted out milton keynes new dealership. all we know is it's got is special colours and plenty of power.
we will have one as a demonstrator and have all ready sold one so that leaves a possible 7 still to sell.

No dealerships have been promised any Solberg's so i don't beleive that for a minute. If u want 7 Solberg's you have 7 Legacy's too, once the 200 Legacy's have gone it will be a free for all. Hope the Solberg sells better than the UK300, IM couldn't move them

The answer to that probably depends on whether the "Solberg" genuinely offers something better/desirable/exclusive/new. The UK300 was nothing more than an attempt to doll up standard bugeyes that nobody wanted to buy anyway. The previous special editions were a little bit more than parts bin jobs, and that's now being reflected in the desirability and residuals.

Question

So then, the guys with the insider info (ScoobyBoy & Scooby Brother to name two:

Can you comment on whether dealers have been given price reductions or other incentives to move MY03 STi UK cars (STi8's)?

This would make sense in prep for creating a demand for the rumoured Solberg special edition.
