I was told that any phase 1 engined car (MY98 and older) will get flames with a cat-less exhaust system.

I've also been told that this won't happen with a phase 2 car (MY99 and newer) Which is a bit of a pain, after selling my MY97 for a MY99!!!

If you've been told that a remap will get flames, then it looks like the Possum Link for my car will come sooner!!!

is it true that if you get flames a lot, then maybe the mixtures maybe a tad too rich, which means maybe powers a tad down and you defeat the whole objective of tuning your cars??
