Read William Gibson's latest one (Pattern Recognition) and though it started off OK it was a bit of a letdown.
As far as "classics" go I think Dumas's "The Three Musketeers" and Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" are good.
I've also read some Philip K. Dick stuff, but IMHO although the ideas are revolutionary the writing isn't that great.

Fave books, well, I'm a bit of a geek, so sci-fi appeals a lot, so.. let's see
Iain M Banks - Got and read all of his novels. My first was actually Excession, and that got me hooked. Only one I did not reall like was Inversions. Feersum Enjinn (sp?) is one of my faves, but as obvious, can't spell the name of it
Iain Banks - the non sci-fi part of Iain M Banks. very good books. First was Wasp Factory, which is mad, got quite a few of the others, but not all, but I'm working on it. Canal dreams was a bit of a let down though, Espidair Street is great though.
William Gibson - ahh, Mr Cyberpunk himself. Loved Neuromancer, and Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive are great too. Virtual Light and Idouro are not bad either. Pattern recognition is rather funky too.
Last, but by no means least is...
Jeff Noon - Vurt is one of my all time fave books, ever! i've read it around 30 times and still love it. Pollen and Nymphomation are good as well, not read pixel juice or falling out of cars, but I'll get round to it.
and a boy puts a feather in his mouth...
