To get the Ring you need to either race on Live with someone hosting the race and has set it up for the Ring, or you have to go through all the Kudos Championship in single player (you can rush through it getting only bronzes if you're in a rush to unlock the Ring.

If you haven't done all the single player and you want the ring, I think you can keep it if you complete an online game, you can join a game someone else is hosting even if it's cars and tracks you havne't unlocked. You just get ghosted, and I think you don't keep the kudos, but I am sure you keep the track. Might have to double check that though.
I bought the xbox purely for GR2, I hear that it's way better than the upcoming GT4.
I have got through all the silvers (twice, as first xbox broke), working on gold now, only have a few left to go, freaking cones, do my nut. As for plat, I ahve done about 7, but I seriously cannot see myself finishing all the plats. The cone ones are just daft.
xbox live is just genius, I can't believe how well it works, very occationally there are slight problems, cars appearing infront of you from behding you etc, but I reckon that's just net traffic, the servers are suppose to be emense. On the whole I am very impressive, I can't stop playing at the moment. I got to rank 18 online, but it's a bit of a buggar, as people kick me out of their rooms, before they even start. Kudos prejudice

I am rank 43 (745,800k), and 18 online now (somewhere over a million k, but not plugged in so can't check).
On the single player thought, I started straight on silver this time, and didn't bother with the first two, probably earns you slightly less, but after already doing it once, I couldnt face it again. Finishing off gold now, but I think I have played it too much over the silly season, I am actually getting worse rather than better - you can have too much of a good thing. This is the first console I have had in ages though, still a bit of a novalty, especially with gr2 for a petrol monkey like me.

So is everyone on here racing on Live? Does anyone have xlink/kai?
If I have to use that free 2 month trial to play loads of SN people then I will register it but wanted to avoid it if possible.
Why do you use live instead of the freebies like xlink?

When I first got broadband, tried XB Connect but then rapidly tired as it with the hassle factor. Live is worth the £30-odd pa in my book. It's dead easy to use and everything is nicely integrated. Also, I've been impressed at how integrated PGR2 is with Live, even in Single Player mode.

yup have to agree... I played on Xbox connect but running up and down the stairs to my pc got on my nerves ... and all you get to do is race
PGR2 on live you can download ghost cars of the fastest guy's in the world to see where you are going wrong. The single player game is totaly integrated with the scoreboards of every player in the world....
£30 for a year is well worth it and anyone who say's otherwise is cheap/student (delete as applicable) yes I have all the other programs but LIVE is 100% integrated and works 100% of the time
voice comms are bugging when playing american kids but I've played a bit with Sheepsplitter,RB5,whizzbang to name a few and the crack is good via the headset IMHO

I'd need a headset with a 40ft cbale to go from my Pc to my Xbox
I'd stick with the one that comes out of my controller Amazon have them but you'd be best buying the starter pack and getting a year free live with it.
