Hope everyone who had accidents including me gets everything back in working order. Only good thing to come out of the accidents was that no one was hurt, just shows how strong the cars are but we should never get complacent..
what did you bend si?
Our Baby arrived on wednesday, so I couldn't pop over to OP yesterday to see what was going on. Judging by the lack of sleep I had last night, it may be a while before I make it to another trackday

Dave,
Congratulations on the new arrival, don't worry about the lack of sleep it gets easier after a few years, lol.
The morning session was very very wet, I was taking Foulstons in third gear to limit the power but one lap I decided 2nd gear was appropriate, how wrong I was. Booted it coming out of Foulstons and got a lovely drift then the boost peaked and spun me round. Almost got her stopped but the back wheels got on the grass and that was that. Fortunately it was a very low speed impact backwards into the tyres. Only damage was the little skirt under the bumber came out of the clips!! I was very lucky and a little bit more cautious afterwards.

Thanks Guys, the little blighter is asleep at last, sure it won't last however.
Sounds like it was a fun day yesterday then, I was thinking about you all when I saw it peeing it down in the morning. Hope everyone was as lucky as Si with what they bent....

Gaz,
If it helps he had very short shaved hair & wore glasses.
Dave,
I got away lightly the Evo was in a very bad state and there was and STI8 which was not looking to good either. Feel sorry for these guys, it's only when you have a brush with the barriers you realise how dangerous it can get.
Si.

Thanks for the Birthday cake and wishes, it was a fun day.

The day started out very wet with lots of standing water, i was running on some very worn out tyres, which were useless in those conditions, so at lunch i decided i was wasting my time and put my road set back on. At last i could drive the car properly and the rest of the day was a lot of fun.
Most fun of the day was the few laps i did trying to convince the Escort Cossie and Silver EVO they should let me pass, they werent having it at first but eventually gave in.
LOL
I didnt see the damaged cars but i believe the EVO was quite a mess, one of the instructors told me the driver of that wasnt the owner, but i dont know if that was correct having not seen them myself.
In the afternoon most of the track was fairly grippy, the only really slippy place i found was Druids, especially on entry, but its wide enough there to just let the car slide a bit and keep a balanced throttle to just past the 2nd apex. Braking into the first corner after the pits was a bit iffy too as you went over a small river, with no ABS i had to play with the brake presure there to stop it locking up. It was fun playing with the diff settings too, the DCCD makes a huge diference to braking and exit traction, if you havent been in a car fitted with this setup, try it, you will be surprised what a diference it makes.
I spent the day testing some new EBC yellow compound pads too, conditions wernt ideal for brake testing, but in the afternoon i managed to get some good use out of them, they worked much better than the last set of Yellows i tried and had lots of feel, which was important in such slippy conditions. The engineer who designs the pads came up for the afternoon to see how they were performing, which was interesting for me as i learned more about how the pads are constructed and tested. EBC have made a big step forward in the last 12 months so if you havnt tried them because they were hopeless a year ago, try the new generation compounds, they are very diferent and work well.
It was great to meet up with some of the people from the BBS, glad the pug is making progress RRH, it takes time to sort a car, but once you are on top of it you are going to have a lot of fun. Glad you enjoyed the run Chris, the DCCD is pretty clever and changing the settings makes a big diference to the handling, especially in the wet, it was good fun showing you that.
Si, get rid of those Pirelli's,
they are deadly in the wet, you could have nailed it out of foulston's with decent tyres on, it must have been quite a tricky days driving.
Glad you got away with it lightly.
Thanks to everyone at Track Action, a very well run day in tricky conditions, the stopages for accidents seemed to be over very quickly.

Hello all, well in the main we all survived the morning at Oulton. I have seen it worse, but not by much. Considering the conditions most the drivers quickly adapted to them. It was extremely slippy round Druids, lots of understeer at the turning point. Braking into Lodge was sensitive to say the least.
The Evo going off was unfortunate, the chaps that share the car had only just bought it from a chap in Ireland. I think what had happened is they had previously used a Gsr which as you know have a few more driver aids, ABS, AYC. As they approached Lodge they hit standing water and it locked up. Hence the incident with the barrier. Prior to this the car had been going round very well, it just goes to show how quickly it can happen.
The afternoon dried out and was incident free, I didn't even run out of petrol this time ! All round we had a very enjoyable day, plenty of banter in the pit lane garage etc. Good to see so many Subaru's.
Did anyone chat to the young lads in the Imp's, they had a great old time . They had traveled from Cheltenham. I could not believe they were running on crossply tyres !! Only one of them span off in the morning.
We have counted the Children in Need fund, so far we are up to over £400. So for those of you who have bought raffle tickets, thanks.
Just 2 more dates remain for this year, 6th Dec ( Saturday ) and the 20th Dec ( Saturday ). The 20th is a must because it is the last of the season and we have arranged our Christmas bash at Cabbage Hall. There will be a buffet and it will give us the opportunity to buy you all a drink as a thankyou for your support throughout the year. We will be drawing the raffle prizes, fireworks, track-action oscar awards ( all those video off's and spins will be shown ) Me singing, and Graeme....well we are thinking of something for him to do, any ideas ?

Yes the silver car next to JF's was mine.Myself and my old man were using his Blue wagon for the day out on track.
Thank you to the guy in the green and yellow imp who not only let us past but then avoided collecting us after the old man span infront of him on the next corner.

I've got all the photos in hi-res if anyone wants me to email them. I have kept the files smallish on the site due to the size of the big files (2meg plus each)
Dave,
I traded the WRX for the P1 at a dealership, probably lost too much on the WRX and paid too much for the P1 but it makes me smile every time I drive it and that's what it's all about.
John,
Not used the P1 since Saturday, got her out of bed this morning and after looking at the tiny amount of bumper damage I realise how lucky I was. I must admint I was struggling on the P-Zeros and in the wet never really got an understanding of what they were going to do.
Si.
