Do you need the boost solenoid for the Link Plus?

no solenoid need for link plus.

Although the link plus price isn't as good as it could be.

I think will be getting a price on some Microtech LT8s and software.

Top for lunchtime.

As an added 'sweetener', if we get 10 people on the group buy, I shall personally buy each of those people a packet of Fruit Pastilles as well.

From drb5's post.

Ok, prices are as follows:-

For the link ecu with fitting and mapping...£785.53+VAT
(97-98 and 99-2000 models, a three port boost solenoid is needed at £140 inc. VAT. 92-96 models do not need this.)

For the link ecu with controller(not fitted or mapped)...£639.57+VAT (97-98 and 99-2000 models, a three port boost solenoid is needed at £140 inc. VAT. 92-96 models do not need this.)

all parts and accessories that are needed for fitment of boost solenoid come with it.

And for the link plus ecu...£895includingVAT

And I'd like to add that none of these ecu's will fit a bugeye or blobeye and the ecu's for these model years are NOT in the group buy!!!

'come on people. who needs a gems or pe or indeed ecutek when u can get a link??? '

Well because an EcuTek and Gems are far superior to the Link. I am sure anyone (amended to remove the common name of Bob !) will tell you this. Can the Link retard if you put in a dodgy tank of juice or drive your car up a mountain ETC ETC....
Surprised Branko is still at BRD, he tends to scare more customers away that attract them IMHO.

Angry

I feel that I should copy my emailed direct response to lordlucan (whomever he is) publically. I would normally ignore such a post however since he has quoted me without permission and in error I think it best. Its short.

"Without predudice.

Its your "right" to post as you feel however your quoting of me is incorrect and erroneous.

As a statement of fact"

His comment does NOT reflect my views or advice which will depend on the objectives that are required in individual circumstances.

People ... whatever you decide to do is your choice and wether it be Motec, Gems, Link or "a remap of the factory ecu using EcuTek software" then all of these options can be provided and have been done relatively successfully for several years, there will always be disagreements in any walk of life, no exceptions and we all have to learn to move on. Clearly that is hard for some.

Thank you

Bob Rawle

I feel Slightly responsible for this....
My opinion is different to most other peoples though, I did not feel the price for the Link plus was as good as i was expecting..
The difference being that i plan to map myself.

IMHO anyone looking to get a decent ecu that is well priced and cannot map themselves will not do better than this Group Buy.

Considering that Link ECU's and hand controllers sell for £600 second hand and IIRC do not carry a guarantee, the Link and tuning module price is very good... looks like about £150 more than 2nd hand price.
Then you have the Link and mapping price.... Just over £900 for a MAPPED Ecu!!! that can be remapped again and again.

I may be wrong but doesnt the Link have Knock control?? Be it limited....

Rob.

Thumbs up

I have just sold my Link ECU and controller and agree with Rob Says alot for the Link IMHO.

Reason I sold it was for no fault of the Link, cause I cant realy fault it, I just want to try the GEMS after talking to a few people with the GEMS fitted.

Apologies if I have offended anyone.

Bob Rawle - I didnt quote you without permission, if I had been quoting yourself I would have indeed used your surname !! Please let me know if you would like me to amend my post to make it clearer.

My post was to help others by pointing out different better solutions, surely you realised that many months ago as you have become an EcuTek reseller.
