"the deal" is that eventually the right buyer will stumble on the add and get exactly the car they want at a price both parties are happy with.
This cannot happen if the add drops into obscurity on page 13,456 because of people selling 1 brake pad, a dolls' house, a fishing rod etc and filling the For Sale forum faster than a ****** hole.
"Bump" means the same as BTTT, ie you "bump it up".. you never heard that saying?
Anyway, mine will also be gone, one way or the other, by the end of next week, so I won't be pestering the forum for much longer

mine went on Friday, and I bought new car saturday morning
I didn't sell it privately though, went to a trade chap. I was even happy with the price!
Have you thought about getting rid to the trade? OK it's a bit less money but you would have sold it by now without any timewasters, non-arriving viewers, test pilots etc..
Thats got to be worth a few quid.

I've had a few tade offers but I not to desperate at the moment to sell. I put it in Autotrader yesterday and already had one phone call.. Leave it for a few more months than I'll see.
Cheers for the advice

My advice would be to get it gone sooner rather than later
- not being funny but the later shapre wrx is now starting
to become raedily available.
Not knocking the price - just a bit of friendly advice

part ex against another car Wakey? STi8 I think I remember reading you had got... 25k worth at least?
That's fair enough, my car went just for cash to the trade not against another much more expensive car, I can't compare that to your scenario.
I think the problem in general with this sort of car at this age is that buyers are not easy to find who will buy a car privately for more than 12 thousand pounds. It's perceived as a risk not worth taking for a large amount of cash, when for not a lot more they get the "dealer warantee".
Most of the time I'm pleased to say I think its an unjustified fear. I have met many members of SN who I'd trust wouldn't sell me a bag of spanners.
It's just a matter of the right buyer with the right level of knowledge seeing the add isn't it? Obviously that takes time. I don't suppose the £400 Carlton GSI will be for sale much longer. After all, it's "only" £400 isn't it....
