tyresonline.net claim they have 215/45/17 in stock.
At least, I think that's what they're claiming:
We have the tyres you requested available at £86.36 inc vat

If you need any more info or would like to go ahead with an order please
contact me on 0121 236 6787

Many Thanks

Umm these prices aren't cheap!!! Tileys of Bristol (Subaru dealer) quoted £320 all in when I approached them a while back. Basically they would match the best price I got, and did!!

What's going on ?

Those prices are less than impressive.

Micheldever Tyres want 379.01 for 4 x Goodyear GSD3 215/45/17, fully fitted and balanced, and they have "plenty in stock".

I suppose it's only any use if you live - or are going - somewhere near there (near Andover, Hants), but by the time you've added local fitting I can't see a group buy beating that.

Brun, I've a feeling that STi7 are 225/45x17 as they are wider than standard WRX but still 17". I looked at getting some for my WRX but was put off by the limited tyre choice...

scoobyworld list that size as the only 17" one above 215 width so I think it's fairly safe an assumption...

Just spoke to tyresonline.net

they have approx 50 215/45/17 GSD3 in stock (physically)

Wanted £86 odd but sound like they will do some discount for group buy.

They will phone me back after speaking to Goodyear about a lead time on 215/40/17s

i would take 4 of each if price is healthy & i can easily get many many more than that as i know of at least 3 popular powerful cars that use those sizes & i frequent numerous bulliten boards for such cars so the sky's the limit for a good price & F1's are preference i guess

Bad news guys - you had probably guessed that the 215/40/17 would be a stumbling block None in stock at present - but he is trying to get a date for delivery. In the meantime - i am gonna be supplied with a price for them - so if it's good enough some of you might be able to hang on. I however - can't cos i'm almost slick so i might have to go else where
I'm still gonna go ahead with this groupbuy if enough peeps are still interested.
