I had to register to try and find the post, and I cant believe what a bunch of f*ds are on there, they cant even speak english for christ sake!! Spotty faced youths driving 400 rovers with fast and furious spoilers and 14" wheels with trims and looking like they crashed through the window of Halfords spring to mind!

correcting peoples posts is the lowest form of BBS comeback, I don't bother proof reading any of this stuff or spelling etc. Just blast it out in the quickest possible time.Like everyone else with any sense.

mark- a lot of it is jelousy from people that would love one if they could aford one! the rest are cossie owners that don't know any better than going in a straight line!( ex- cossie owner here )
You see, it's comments like that which is why impreza drivers have a rapidly growing hatred directed towards them.
Afford one? The price of the secondhand scoob is at an all time low. The classic models can be picked up at such cheap money, it's rapidly becoming the 19 year old boy racer's new weapon of choice!
As for straight line only cossie owners, you're not far off the mark there, but that's like suggesting that the scoob 4x4 transmission is the only one that will negotiate any corner! Scoobs seemed to be disappearing behind my saff yesterday at Bedford very quickly...... surprised that they're allowed on with their big bore exhausts Cossie handles very well now, and humbled many an STi yesterday with very similar power.
I love the impreza in all it's forms, but some owners do really spoil it for the rest..............

Richard, when i say afford i mean buy, insure, fuel and maintain, they are not cheap cars to run.......insurance for a 19 year old will be at least £3000 a year for a start!!!!
i stand by my statment
oh.....how much have you spent to get it to handle like an STI?

Owned Escort Cossie and now own a STi8 Scoob, straightline speed nothing in it as my Cossie was 300 ponies as well if anything Cossie has the edge.
However chassis wise no contest I have had the Scoob sideways on many occasion not because it slides a lot but because I can make it do it, whether be mid-corner lift off or apex leaving over acceleration, wet or dry awsome
I had some t!t in a saph growl at me through his windscreen when he saw my scoob the other day what was that all about?
I love my Scoob to bits and having owned a lot of cars in my 33 years its the best all round grin factor car I've owned.

PMSL What, a WRC winning design not good enough
thats one of the funniest comments I have ever heard
I genuinly like impreza's as well, having had two of them, but I got bored quite quickly so moved on elsewhere, and now, to be honest im glad I did, the reputation of the Impreza is shocking now! "oh look another impreza" "oh look another blue one".
The attitude of some of the owners as mentioned by RichardPON really doesnt do you guys any favours, they simply refuse to believe that there is any better car out there 'for the money', but if some of them got thier heads out thier a$$e's/took the blinkers off then maybe you would see that there are PLENTY of better cars out there for the money!
Maybe if it was a nice high powered skyline, yes, but 9 times out of 10 its a sub £10,000 badly made bean can...

Yup, me in my 205 gti Mi16 (cost me £800 as a fun summer car) against my mate in a standard UK turbo..
Me driving my mates UK turbo getting urinated on by an Integra Type R...
Ditto that again with a Clio Cup
against a 306gti6 (light mods to take it to just under 200bhp) same story...
Yes, it was dry (not sunny though) but if you are pushing hard in the wet IMO its a time bomb anyway... even if it is an impreza/evo/skyline they are by far an away NOT idiot proof as i found out in my P1 in the wet...
Revised my opinion of that car after a gentle sweeper in 3rd gear nearly put me in the armco (wasnt a fluke as I tried it again a few times on similar bends)

Difference is, I don't just jump in my car and expect the car to handle that well, just because "McRae used to drive one"

Thanks C. It's nice to know what the competition is. To be honest I was a little shell-shocked a couple of months ago when I couldn't make ground on a 106 GTi...best to be humble by default methinks unless you have a 1000bhp skyline

Think the thing that everyone has lost site of on the post is that we did not go onto a make specific web site and slag that very make off, what the hell do you expect? The spotty youth element of the yorkshire club thing put a post up which degenerated into a "lets all slag off subarus" thread, try going onto the Ford RS site and say that the Cosworth is a bag of sh*t and see what type of response you get, people are only defending themselves! I have issues with some of the reported types of car that could "eat" an Impreza, like my last car was a gti-6 and I can assure you light tuning will not take it to 200 HP, induction kit and magnex on mine made 5HP more than standard, but I'm getting fed up of this "My dad could beat up your dad" posting,
Gary,
Ps will have to go on to the Yorkshire site and see if I have been banned yet for my spotty youths in rover 400 comments Lol

Who really cares if car X is faster than car Y in the context of the internet. It's all talk, all I know is that my lightly modded old Impreza is faster than 95% or more of cars I come up against on the roads. Good enough for me especially considering how cheap it was. Let me see a brand new Ford Ka or a 250bhp+ car that will leave most things standing wet or dry.

I find it quite amusing that 'Dagenham dustbin' owners are criticising Subaru's reliability. Sure the ford has a strong engine but what about the DRIVETRAIN! Scooby engine can be a grenade engine if its not tuned properly but they are extremely well put together cars. I own a 615bhp Skyline GTR and I still love my Scoob and would prefer driving it as an everyday car. Its a superb car, so what there are a lot of them - that makes parts prices and availability very reasonable.
