Also What about passengers, and is it the International circuit or just Fosters?

Passengers IIRC are £10 for the day. The full circuit has always been used on previous Track Action days I have been on.

And I will be fitting a passenger seat to my rear brakes, hey Si. :-)

Can't help with the lottery numbers as I have yet to work out how to rig the system, stick around as it is only a matter of time :-)

Excellent day again. Big thanks to everyone from track-action, and also to everyone who took me out in their cars folowing the premature demise of the sh*tbox 205.

Etiquette a little ropey again today- I got overtaken twice on the wrong side, once by the red focus, and also by a Q plate cater-field type thing

Nice to meet so many scoobynetters, now I can put faces to user-names!

should have the pug sorted for next weekend- anyone coming to oulton to play?

Good to meet you Si

Have to say today was probably the best track day I have ever done. Organisation was first-class, great instructors, endless tea and biscuits, and every last person made you feel like they really wanted to be there. 10 out of 10.

Also, without doubt my new favourite track in the UK. Felt like a mini Nurburgring. Challenging, fun, and thrilling.

As anybody who knows the various problems I have had with the car after having the engine works done, you will be happy to hear it ran like clockwork for the entire day. Even the instructor commented that the setup couldn't be any better for those conditions. I am a very happy bunny, and am now seriously considering every possible option to spare me selling her.

In which case, there is a good chance I will be back at Oulton on the 22nd of December.

superb news Ed, i hope you keep the car and get some enjoyment out of it. It can get you down at times when things dont work as expected, but having a great day does pick you back up and remind you of why you bought the car.

I should be there on the 29th all being well, it's my birthday too.

All apart from the reading on the secs ed

I also had a great day, enjoyed the track very much. The only problem is after the ring, everything seems slightly anti-climax, is it me or do others think that?

Was a great day indeed, considering the conditions there were fewer incidents than the last time I was there. Nice meeting you Edcase/Nozzer & TKH etc. Glad you liked our local 'ring Hope to see you there again soon.

Here's hoping you can keep the car too Ed. It looked and sounded

No worries mate, anytime.
Cheers, it's the first time since the car was completed in summer that it's run 100% without missing a beat.

I have loads of photos of everyone, when I find the camera I will post some up. If anyone objects to their photos being posted please let me know and I will not include, reg plates will be obscurred.

Roll on next weekend, it was difficult watching everyone on track when my motor was parked up in the pits just desperate to go out.

Edcase & Cube which are your cars?

Si, I was in my mates white Sunny GTiR. Edcase's was a green MY01/02.
Were you in the silver 205? That was a tidy wagon that brought the Pug in.

Any pics would be great thanks

Cheers Lee, tho it pains me to admit it (as I always get into his ribs about owning a Datsun ), it is a pretty well sorted car with most of the mods being done where it counts ie. in the chassis. Just wish we could drive it to anywhere near it's full potential
Should be back again on track on the 6th, but will probably be only spectating next weekend.

Cube.

Well we had a superb day in the Type RA. This was its first outing and apart from warping the Pagid discs all went very well. Thanks to Track-Action for a well organised day and to Graeme for the instruction. Track etiquette was good while we were on track. Don't know who had the red Pug 205, but he lives very near me - Small world or what. Good to meet RRH finally - hope you get the car sorted mate.

Just need to decide whether to try Group N discs first or whether I should just go for AP's. Descisions, desicisions........

Cheers

Simon (RRH) next time mate The one time I did get a free seat you went back out in yours If we win this account this week I may well be there next weekend!

Cube, the car was looking well quick from the pit wall

If anyone has any photos feel free to post them / pass them on.

Just been watching back the video footage, if anyone doesn't already have a camera and mount it really is invaluable, and it's great watching back all the hairy moments / hot laps! Right at the end I've got a couple of great laps with the instructor catching and passing a new 911 turbo

That red RSR porka ate me for breakfast tho

Glad the RA went well for you Tony. Dont waste your money on throwing disks and pads at the car with stock sized brakes, if your using this mainly as a track car then AP's are the way to go.

Get yourself a set of 4 pot 330mm AP's, you will need some 17" wheels to run these. If you do this you will find brake pads ae much cheaper and last 3 times as long, you wont warp your disks every five minutes either. On top of these advantages your going to have much better brake performance.

You could go for the 305mm kit if you want to retain 16" wheels, braking performance wont be as improved, but pad life and disk performance will be.

If you need any tips, get in touch.

Cheers John

I know AP's are the way to go really. Just need to justify the outlay (as usual)

The broken silver 205 was mine cube.

First time out for it- but it decided it wasn't going to play ball. I did two laps, could smell burning rubber, so decided to pit and check out if it was the pug making the smell.

Let it cool, took it out again, and it threw its alternator belt Took it slow coming back in, and unfortunately one of gearbox oil seals decided it didn't want to play either

I then had a blowout on the trailer on the way home, just to add to the frustration.

Still had a great day out though, in the car with TKH, Lee P and nozzer, and the guy with the black 325 sport, who'c name escapes me (sorry if you're reading this).

the Pug will hopefully be back, together with its Mi16 engine, next weekend.

Hi Edcase, just looking at your post where you mention the Track Action day on the 22nd Dec. The date is actually 20th Dec on the Saturday.
Pleased you had a good day on 22nd Nov, think we all did. Can't wait until next Saturday
