Oulton Park, 22nd & 29th November **Cheap**
I can recommend the TrackAction days at Oulton. Been to a few and they're one of the most professional organised outfits I've experienced, providing little extras that most organisers don't lay on.
I'll probably be there on the 22nd.
Cube.

Changed diff and gearbox oils as well. Just about to do cambelt even though the one that's on looks like a new one. Better to be safe.
Looking forward to going out with Grahame for a few laps as well. He might not 'look' like a professional instructor, but boy can he drive LOL
(No offence mate - Still shaking after that drive in the Discovery with the trailer on)
Cheers

good plan tony. I take it it's 'new to you'
don't overfill the oil, keep it just slightly below half and keep your eye on it. they like a bit of breathing space in the gearbox too, just to allow for expansion.

booked for the 22nd but havnt had a confirmation email yet.
As to gearbox oil levels, run the oil level 1/8" above the max mark, as the max mark is too low and doesnt provide enough lubrication for 3rd gear. It makes a noticable diference to gearbox noise and feel if you do this.
When checking your engine oil levels during the day, remember the two holes in the dipstick are cold level markers, the notch in the side is the hot max level. I suggest when hot, you aim to have the oil on the max hole mark as a minimum during track days.

Tis sad to see just how few people even bother checking
Even sadder, this will likely be my last trackday in the Scoob as it goes in Top Marques this week

anyway, the 205 is nearly ready, at the moment it knocks and rattles like a right old sh*tbox (I think the cage and suspension are largely to blame for that), and it don't half feel slow after the RA.
the brakes have all the feel of treading in dog sh*t (haven't been able to bleed the system properly yet after some tw*t of a previous owner broke the nipples off the rear calipers), exhaust is knocking (looks like i need to spend another quid on clamps), and the steering is about 4000 turns lock to lock (not quite sure about this one)
never mind it'll be better for saturday once I've fine tuned it

Chaps, you need to invest in some second hand slicks and wets. They grip and cheaper than road tyres.
Contact Shaun the Michelin man ( you have seen him at our track days )His numbers are 07968 307584 or 01753 579011 just say you have been speaking to Simon from Track Action.
