I agree with Subverbal... so I must also be strange . I also prefer the look of my MY96 to the later face lifted version, but I think this could be enhanced by the later style bonnet vents.
So Ritchie count me in, I would definately be interested.

Cheers

Pete,

The deals been done, i now have a UK MY00.

The funny thing is the dealer actually gave me money for my WRX ASWELL as the MY00. He said that it was only fair due to the huge performance deference between the two cars.

So i now have a MY00 and £2500 in my back pocket. If only you'd told me to do it sooner!

Cheers again,

Tone

Dunno if this has been covered (havn't read the entire thread)
Anyway - I ordered some bonnet vents from Regal a while ago.
Firstly they didn't fit properly, & secondly they were sh1te quality - really poor.
I spoke to Regal & their Impreza knowledge was extremely poor (then)
Dunno if things have changed now - but I wont be going back.

Richie,

I ended up fitting MY00 bumper and MY00 headlamps to a MY95. The interface between new headlamps and old bonnet is noticable close up, but the reason I chose the new headlamps is purely on performance, rather than style (I simply got fed up with the crap MY95 headlamps). However, I don't believe there is any difference between the headlamp shapes apart from the top profile - so old headlamps will work find with MY00 front bumper. Remember that it is the MY00 grill that includes the extended surround thing, not the bumper so things should fit okay (does that make sense?).The only other thing you need to get are the indicators and little orange wedgey-things.

As I've said, I ended up doing the "nose-job" due to a little "incident", hence the insurance company paid for the bumper. I'm not too sure how much it all costs.

Good luck

PS. Does anyone have a cheap bonnet for sale so I can complete the change

Excellent news. So let me get this straight !

I will be able to fit an MY99/00 Front bumper and keep the MY93 Headlights and Grille (or change it to a revolution one as it fits the same hole.)

Do you reckon this will be better than doing the lights too and having a bit of a gap?

Cheers again Andy

Richie,

I think it's up to you really. The lights ain't cheap (£125 each I think). Then you're a bit stuck because there's still a gap between the lights and the old grill - and a new grill won't fit the contour of the old bonnet! Probably a good stepping stone towards getting a new bonnet and grill - but I probably wouldn't bother.

IMHO the new bumper is nicer and worth having. Your can then put a new-style mesh grill and keep your lights the same. New lights only worth it if you want a new bonnet as well.

Cool, cheers Andy.

OK folks Im opting for a new front bumper and a revolution V5 type mesh grille. This will avoid the need to swap the bonnet and lamps.

Ill let you all know how it comes along and if theres any chance of a set of grilles.

Cheers all, looks like were finally getting the look we want!

Good luck Richie,

Any chance of posting some pics if you get it done... hope so. I'm still very much undecided as to what to do, probably end up doing nothing.
