all done - what was I worrying about? The hardest part for me was disconnecting some of the wiring looms! I just need some silver bulbs now can someone advise me where to get them from please.
Bulbs all in and car looking nice and silver and smooth. They sent me a pair of Philips W5W's small blue bulbs but I've got no idea what they are for or whether they will even fit the scoob, could possibily for side inidicators or side lights??
You'll see how bright they are at night when you see the road signs flashing orange too! As for the blue bulbs, they sent me a set too but I haven't fitted them. It would just attract unwanted attention from the cops. I reckon they're for the side lights though.
If you remove the grille by unclipping al the clips along the top, you can unbolt the bracket from the front panel by accessing a 10mm bolt, rather than removing the 2 screws onto the headlight which are harder to get to.
Once the bracket is unbolted the headlight is merely clipped into the wing with push fittings so gently tug but mind the wong lip or youll take the paint off.
Just done mine, and it does indeed look the dogs. Wish I'd known about this little tip first though. I ended up having to take out the battery to get to the screws on the passenger side, and still lost one into the engine bay...
And yep, like everyone else it appears, I didn't buy bulbs first and didn't finish until after Halfords shut for the day. Oh well, just going to have to take my existing bulbs into work tomorra and spray them until my new silver ones come from Powerbulbs.com (ordered just now on advice from this thread). Thanks very much to the OP for concise and easy to follow instructions
