as for the mk4 - 103,000 and 320 bhp....try doing that to many other cars...without spending a penny on the internals or the g/boxp
And running alot more horses than that too

BTW IMHO Atlas Grey has stood the test of time far better than Oak Green, & AFAIK Helios Blue was only available on MkI's

MR2 Turbo can easily be upgraded to over 300bhp without touching the internals.
They are a bloody pain, these 205's though
Think my rear beam has gone - O/S wheel is only 6mm from the rear arch/valance, and about 2 inch's on the other side, near the drivers door - i.e. the wheel doesn't sit in the middle.
Looks like I need a new toolkit for my birthday then

Helios Blue came on the '88 special edition Mk2 Golf (JUST prior to big bumpers).
IMHO Atlas Grey can look a bit, well, Grey - A bit flat with no life - Dark Met. Green + Blue always have a bit of a spark to them in the sunlight.

If you can get your car sorted with TBs for £500 let me know ! I'm currently looking into them for my 1.9 8v. Without the ECU etc as I've already got one I'm looking at the best part of £1000+ including mapping.

The £500 was for eveything secondhand/from scrappies, so was hoping to get a load of equipment and do it myself.
however....
I would "like" to do it all myself, but I have no garage, and not may tools. The tools can be rectified, but the garage is a problem. There are a small number of lockups around here, but they are all taken/cost as much as a house.
Dont fancy having the engine out on the front street.
however....
Do you not fancy a bash at the rebuild yourself, would be much cheaper..........

None of the parents have one either. My parents have a huge rear space that can fit about 8 cars in, but its not covered. If it was summer, that could be OK, but dont fancy it in the rain.
We are buying a new house next summer, so may just run it as is for now, til we move (and finally get a garage).
TBH, my rear beam/wheel problem is more pressing.

was genuinely interested to know what Toyota you were talking - not touchy at all - so which one are u talking about, supra turbo i asume - that would mean it would have over 642 bhp without internal changes or triple if were are talking like for like (150bhp - 360bhp) 963bhp+ without internals being upgraded....

Sorry to hear about your 205 woes DW. It always seems to be the case with modded motors, never sure why. Perhaps its to do with the fact that modded cars are tweaked to go harder, and so consequently are DRIVEN harder?
Years ago, a mate and I both had matching Capri 2.8 Injections, except that mine was stock, and his was a factory Turbo Technics jobbie. The pangs of envy that I got whenever I drove his car back to back with mine (his was around 240bhp with LSD, rear discs and proper suspension) were usually erased when his car made yet another trip to the garage to repair or replace some bespoke stressed or broken bit, usually at a lot of expense. Basically it wasn't desighed for the treatment. Mine ran faultlessly. (Still does in fact: but that's another story).
Perhaps I should keep all 3 and buy a 1.6 205 for the full-on set? Or add a 5 Turbo and a ****** Clio to cover every single area of hot hatchdom?

Fair enough - just seemed it a little from the Celica comment Aye the Supra Twin Turbo, J-Spec is 280bhp according to Toyota and its well known to take over 600bhp without internal work, and the gearbox is a Getrag box, which can take a real hammering. One of the most reliable and over engineered engines around 
Tripling will require internal work, but 1000bhp from 3litres as opposed to 360 from 1.8 is a bit different (1.2litres extra for 640bhp on top is rather a lot I'm sure you'd agree ) Still, bet thats gonna fly when its done!

Well just been out measuring my 205 due to the rear beam problem. The O/S wheel sits 2cm further back from the front than the N/S wheel, which is odd as it drives perfectly straight, doesn't crab etc.

SOLUTION: The 16v Golf has found a new home with my now ex-g/friend (I actually bought it for her in the first place: not that I wanted it at all, honest )
She is happy, and in reality so am I. Some may argue, but I actually prefer the 8v in a lot of respects.
So the Pug stays (wahey!), and a bit more cash goes into the E55 savings fund.
