I think he's referring to the pic near the top of p2. I'm guessing that those symbols are meant to indicate that the car is fitted with an electrical cut-out and a fire extinguisher.

People seem to be missing the point.....
It is not that we are not ungrateful or feel above ourselves that members wish to advertise the community. Like I said we have formed a very good relationship with our present supplier (which is certainly not going to help us, if they get wind that others are selling Scoobynet branded items), with the intention to having stickers produced for all community members via Scoobyshop. Apologies again for this taking so long, but we are now in the process of having a full Scoobynet Merchandise line available.
I find it quite disheartening when people state we "are up our own *****". This couldnt be further from the truth, when so many good things have come out of Scoobynet in the past 12-18 months with competitions, giveaways and experiences that for some have been priceless.
As well as the moral obligation with our current supplier, the legal fact stands as....
ScoobyShop/Net Copyright / Intellectual Property
ScoobyShop/Net wording, logos, images, etc are the sole property and copyright of ScoobyNet Ltd. Any use of these is prohibited without the prior express written permission of ScoobyNet Ltd.
Regards,
Shaun.

1) Ew4n should have asked scoobynet if he could reproduce their logo for his own personal use. I did (for my website) and simon kindly agreed until his own picture hosting was available.
2) Shaun shouldnt have read the riot act, as Ew4n has now made the stickers and theyre on the car but maybe should have politely requested that he doesnt reproduce ANYMORE for other scoobynetters.
At the end of the day, many people have used the logo for their own use because of lack of official merchandise and i think this is fair enough BUT i dont think its fair to reproduce for others (either free or at a cost), not that Ew4n has OR will.
PS, very nice stickers but i wont be asking for any

Boro,
1) Ew4n should have asked scoobynet if he could reproduce their logo for his own personal use. I did (for my website) and simon kindly agreed until his own picture hosting was available.
Correct. With permission from Scoobynet Ltd, logo/images can be used.
2) Shaun shouldnt have read the riot act, as Ew4n has now made the stickers and theyre on the car but maybe should have politely requested that he doesnt reproduce ANYMORE for other scoobynetters.
My first post was very polite, but to the point.
ew4n already has an interest in producing decals commercially, as he has be informed on occasions in the past on commercial posts he has made.
The comments I have editted from his last post on the first page, insinuated that these stickers would be available to people that wanted them.
At the end of the day, many people have used the logo for their own use because of lack of official merchandise and i think this is fair enough BUT i dont think its fair to reproduce for others (either free or at a cost), not that Ew4n has OR will.
Again, apologies for the time it is taking to produce an official merchandise package, but this is has/is being worked on and will be ready for release on Scoobyshop very soon.
But because none has been available does not give individuals the right to produce there own, however "fair enough" you may think that is.............. I have just had our supplier on the phone, who is peeved to say the least.
Taking all this onboard, it is now a priorty for us to have a package in place asap.
Regards,
Shaun.

If it's not too far down the line might I suggest a post in General asking what sort of stickers people might like ? IE styles, named, flagged etc?

Can i just say that, as chairman of the RB5 Club I can support Shaun on the time it takes to get merchandising and stuff done within a club.
There are so many things going on that you have to sort out, and before you know it, months have passed and u still havent got it sorted.
When dealing with a 3rd party, things are largely out of your hands, relying on them (I'm not insinuating that this is the case here)
So please give Shaun & SN a break, they are doing their best for u lot.
As for Ew4n's actions, big up to him for the idea but when SN are using some1 else to do their stickers this will cause problems to SN as the company can take it that SN have broken their terms. Lots of legal mess etc.
As Shaun said, he has already had them on the phone annoyed at this.

not to ruffle any feathers, and i can see the whole point of it, im in the graphic design trade, so i understand the need for licencing and image rights......but its also a fact that if the original image is changed by as little as 10% the image is no longer counted or legaly recgonised as the original.
10% tint on the Orange will sort that out
Also who licenced the font thats used, for comercial use?, we have said font and its not a freewere or comercialy licenced for mass production.....
as i said, my thoughts entierly.....all jokes aside, a simple " can I use" would have sorted it out.
And if your supplier was any good it would have not taken him more that 1 month to sort out the mearchendise let alone a year...our company could have had it done and dusted in a week....we do this every day, day in day out 20k runs at a time, not just printing stickers, posters folders, embroidery..the lot...
Jasons Final Thoughts
"Free Advertising is good...dont knock it"
"Only the Finest Companys Get Counterfited"
all the best

ew4n,
Thank you so much for your elightening comments. I will certainly sleep better tonight knowing how my butt should be kicked.
Nathan,
Nice idea! It's never too late!
WRX,
Delays have certainly not been down to our supplier (well not entirely )
Regards,
Shaun.

I find it rediculous that Scoobynet have to ring the "legal" bell just because someone has made their own stickers using a fascimile of the Scoobynet logo, to me that is being up your own ****.
I don't see why you just couldn't have said "Nice job ew4n but in future can you please ask our permission before you use the logo...thanks"
Or would that have been not up there enough ?

i must say i agree with WRX, scoobynet need a different supplier cause over a year is just to long to wait, its obvious people who use the site want to advertise this,so until SN get it sorted i think they are gunna sh*t out with this, cause now shauns kicked up a fuss people will keep it to themselves which dont do anyone any good IMO....roll on kentscoobies.co.uk!!!lol

I only added that 10% comment as a "point of fact"......it was not an invite to counterfit everything and anything...lol
As long as none are sold on for profit, i cant see the problem, there are always the die hard follower who will buy "offical" goodies and all well and good for them, ill more than likely buy one...
having said that im off to Japan in 3 weeks....anybody want a pair of Knock off Gucci Jeans for the Gf...just dont go out in the rain with them on...the "USA MARINES" logos start to show through on the fabric...hehehehhehe
all the best

just out of principle you should take WRX's comment and change the design by 10% make 1000 and sell them cheaper than scoobynet. They seem to forget that without most of the people on the board they wouldnt have a buisness.
Why have it as a buisness at all, as a past member of an mr2 club that was completely ran by enthusiasts for enthusiasts then you would never get this problem. If you wanted to make stickers and make a couple of quid for yourself then no one would have a problem as everyone was benefitting unlike greedy companies.
keep it going lads you will soon alienate people and start loosing buisness if that is the sort of attitude you want to take with people
its was a sticker ffs
