As I said they don't exist
Don't talk such sh*t Lighting, of course they exist.

"STi9" is the not-altogether-official designation given to the 2003 model year Japanese market cars. If you want to see a picture of one, look at Iain Litchfield's website, here. Cosmetically, they look identical to the 03MY UK STi's - complete with large rear wing.

As for the "GL" designation, I forget exactly how it works out, but this relates to the spec/trim level of the car. Believe DX is another of the options...

These cars assuredly do exist, and if you can't find a picture of one, you're obviously not trying hard enough.

Mickle, the pictures at the top of the link you posted look strangely familiar. I think these date back from the time when everyone from car magazines to Photoshop addicted geeks were trying to guess at what the Bugeye would eventually look like. The giveaway is that one of them has a W- registration!

The number designations actually stopped at 6 well VI to be correct there was no 7,8 or 9. The MY03 designation is now 3 as in mark 3.

IIRC Mike Woods actually posted that we were all using the wrong designations.

ScoobySTI, as you were told on page 1, the car you saw is an MY03 STi Type RA Spec C. There's been loads written about these, both here and elsewhere on the web. Hit the Search button, type Spec C, and the world will no doubt be your oyster!

Well I can assure everyone the STi 9 GL DOES exist cos I have one in my garage imported direct, its trim level far exceeds the SPEC C and it has the same egine, exhaust etc, twin scroll (but sleeve bearing), auto centre diff, front and rear LSD's, in short its got everything except the lighetr weight, even has the extra cross bar for the front suspension, there are some pics somewhere of my car posted in a previous spec C thread, as for the 330 bhp claim its a load of *****. My car totally standard out of the box made 287 bhp and 276 lb ft on PE rollers (which read slightly LOWER then G Force car to car) and was rich as sin on fuel.

Yep still the same car !!!!!!!!!!!

So if that a 9 then thats mine - they've been out since Feb 2003 in the UK - so whats the point of this thread.

E.g. "has anyone seen one before" - I thought it was something new as people are talking about digital gauges and new ****
