Instead of the usual "page unavailable" type of error message, some programmer at google set it up to spoof the error message.
This is brilliant, try it before someone forces Google to fix its site:
1) Go to www.Google.com
2) Type in "weapons of mass destruction" (DON'T hit return)
3) Hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button, NOT the "Google search"
4) Read the "error message" carefully and thoroughly.
Someone at Google has a sense of Humour, and will probably be fired soon!!!! MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WHOLE ERROR MESSAGE

Took car to BJ's this lunchtime to try the MAF sensor and look for leaks. With the car breathing very badly, we disconnected the MAF and it stalled, so, good news is thhe MAf's OK!
Bad news...
...if you take off the oil cap, there is air coming out
Have left car with BJ to do a compression test later

If it's not an electrical fault, then there may be damage to pistons? melted?
Fek...

Brynster, as you know I'm no technical expert but I thought if you took the oil cap off the car should stall ('cos it's a closed loop breather system or summat?) Or I could be getting mixed up with one of my previous cars!?!
Could it be possible that the ECU has got a bit confused with the changes that have been made and hasn't yet learned that everything is back to normal? Maybe an ECU reset and some brisk driving might help?
Maybe Charley Farley Mr Darley would have a view on this?
Steve

If its stalled, then it isnt the MAF. If its blowing air from the oil cap, then it sounds a little more serious. A compression test should clarify any concerns.
I would possible try a replcaement O2 sensor (one you know that works, eg Lofty's), if that doesnt make any difference then it sounds serious.
Tell us the compresion figures found.
Finally, what fuel hae you been running it on?

Which is the 02 sensor? The Lambda sensor in the downpipe?
Bryn, you're more than welcome to borrow any bits off my car to help diagnose the problem.
I know one of my cars used to stall if you took the oil cap off. Couldn't remember if it was the Scoob or not. Might have been the R5 Turbo or the Probe tho.

Car had a winter service last Saturday: Magnatec 5w40 oil and filter, dump valve fitted, lightened pulleys wheels and an ECU reset. It also had the stepper motor clened up.
Car came back with problems mentioned earlier, dumping when cruising, noise from valve, idle etc.
Taking dv off restored loss of boost but idle problem still there.
It has been run on Optimax and I alternate Octane boost every tank between NF and Millers.

Might prove a wee bit awkward to borrow my 02 sensor as it now has a bloody great scotchlock connector and an extra wire stapled onto the back of it! We could have a go tho if you wish.
Mr D - I think my Links are working properly having now observed them for a bit. Lambda seems to go onto rightmost green when hammering it, then drops off as you ease off. Doesn't seem to show reds on cruise tho? Knock shows a bit of activity (bottom green gets brighter and second green flickers) when changing gear at loadsa revs after ***** out accelaration.
Problem I now have is where to mount them - can't really find anywhere suitable. Where did you have yours??
