when you reach his level u don't hav to be alive u will always be luved and never forgot
music is not about cords and notes its about music

Hey Jo comes out on single in the mid 60's - the song blew my socks off ....
So when the man himself is onstage at Billy Walker's Upper Cut Club in the East End, just had to go.
And all we got for ninety minutes was a wall of discordant noise.
- self-indulgent is what I'd call it; not entertainment.
so, I wouldn't know if he's a good or bad guitarist.

I think you're probably alone on this one.
Maybe you ought to give up with the guitar and try the triangle instead.
Edited to say - apparently not alone.

I'm not a fan of Hendrix but as a guitar player can appreciate his skill.
As Mikey said, his playing is well off the wall and very difficult to emulate (IMHO). Therefore to me he is a fabulous naturally gifted player.
Anyone can learn scales and play fast, it takes something more to bring something different to guitar playing.
Matt
edited to say, Anything by Nuno Bettencourt also confuses me when I used to try and play it MANY years ago)

the only bloke on the planet that thinks Hendrix was a drunken, drugged up black dude who couldn't sing or play a guitar?
