I remember a old thread about animals...........

I thinhk the problem is the pigeons have become domesticated.

you need to catch them and teach them how to hunt so they can return to the wild.........

My mate has a shop and the vermin were crapping everywhere. So I bought two tins of expanding foam, snook up in the attic whilst they were on the nest, and unloaded the lot on em! Didn't see many flying or crapping after that mate!!

**** Pigeons

Its seagulls you wanna be popping off at. They are the pikeys of the bird world. Murder every last living one of the sons of b1tches. If there had been 8 plauges of Egypt, the one they would have slotted in would have been seagulls.
Shoot then on the wing, strangle their young in the nest, stamp on their eggs. Wipe them out.

Yours sincerely

Used to go to school with a farmers son, to rid his dads land of Pigeons (and whatever else had the misfortune to wander in) he put grain down and let them have it with his 'modified' shotgun, it was a little shorter than normal and the record was 8 kill in one go, I say kills but a spade finished the job on a few, nasty bugger really and even as a kid I thoght it better to stay well clear !

Air rifles

Bah !

you want what I was playing with today....

a Colt Navy, circa 1850's, can't remember if it was the 38 calibre or the 45 (have both )
had 20 grains of black powder in it (it will take 60 )
and the lead went straight through a 3" block of wood

must get it acurate before letting rip with 60 grains or the bullet might end up in the next county

Cool

Surely the RSPCB might have something to say about it, and also is there not a law in the UK about discharging a firearm/weapon within 50 Metres of the queens highway? Also what are you going to do with all the corpses? eat them perhaps

Also those pidgeons could be proper racing/homing pidgeons so if you shoot one of them you could be right in the smelly brown stuff.

Vermin !
Shoot away
No liscense required so long as the air rifle is under 12 FTLB ( 6 FTLB for a pistol)
Just make sure the pellets are stopped by something and / or are not going to cross anywhere the public may be wandering.
As for racing pigeons - well there just vermin that somebody feeds but personally I would look for a ring on the leg b4 shootin !

Esdited to keep MJ happy Good huntin !

You can legally shoot pegieons as long as the following are met.

Not shot using a lamp.
You have permmision off the land owner.
The rifle does not have a muzzle energy of 12 ft/lbs ( higher than this and you need a section 1 firearms licence)
You are not shooting within 50 foot of a public right of way Ie road/footpath/pavement etc.
All your pellets must not leave your property boundary.

And just for a downer you need to be able to hit them in the head to do an instant job, and your looking at the size of a 20p!!!

I hunt with an air rifle and unless you live in the middle of a field I suggest your better off looking for an alternative way of scaring them off.

Not forgetting if 1 of your neigbours sees you and calls the local plod you WILL be looking down the wrong end of a firearms team.

Simon

Also look on here www.airgunbbs.com my other hang out. If you want other info I might be able to help mail simon_critchley@hotmail.com

Haven't read thread or even first post..but don't shoot then at home ..take them out into a field or summat, you'll get blood everywhere if you shoot them inside your home with a 12 bore..

sorry don,t know..probably(they're only winged rats anyway )
[err...except all the racing pidgeons they're ace] *wipes sweat from brow*
