The so called super weed is just dried female flowers of various hybrid strains of marijuana. It's no different than that sold in various cannabis coffee shops that operate in England.

Also there is some very dangerous advice here- "she's just stoned", "it will wear off" etc etc. Some people never come out of it and are permanantly damaged. This is the case for a small minority of people sadly.

g/friend and 2 friends were stoned for at least a week after making cakes. she has recovered but she still has a phobia about being thirsty cos she felt dehyrated.

generally she'll stare in to space, ignore you, and be dozey but the effects should wear off.

This is kinda important cuz she's supposed to be going out with me but keeps mentioning her ex's name - i heard somewhere that people's true thoughts come out when they're pissed / stoned - is this true ?

I've done this before (space cake in Amsterdam) with a few mates on a tour of Europe. Suffice to say it was potent stuff and I took 3 days to recover, probably fully recovered in one week.

As a down side though, my mate (ten years on) still gets flash-backs

PS Be careful with the water - too much can harm you.

no she won't really remember much. i had to tell hear what she did and said to people on her 21st!

i had to open the door to strangers asking "is there a party happening" and say not really they are fu(ked already.

she will get over it though. my g/friend is actually quite proud in a strange way of her experience. she said she remembers things but her story is a little different to mine.

and no she can't stand the smell of cooking puff now, makes her wretch.

a thought though she put a "mother and daughter" in 12 cakes between 3 people eaten 1 after another. and took off 1hr later. i made her yak in the morning loads came out and she was still nutted for a week!

she had a family dinner to go to and her brother and her, nutted sitting having dinner with grandma.

Believe me what you friend has done is not a big deal. These people claiming to have flashbacks 10 years later after eating a cannabis cake are talking crap, it doesn't do this to you.

What your friend is experiencing is the same as never having a drink in your life and then downing 10 cans of beer, only the cannabis effects last longer and are slightly different.

There will be no long lasting effects from this and your friend will be fine in less than a week (even a week is an incredibly long time but I am erring on the side of caution), I guarantee you.

 

Why was the doctor a "******" and a "waste of time"?

His (or her) advice was perfectly sensible. Or would you rather she was admitted straight away to a psychiatric ward against her will under the Mental Health Act and forced to take antipsychotic medication? Then you'd be really upset.

 

Maybe he sat there masturbating whilst staring at the clock going dum de dum de dum?

 

I doubt it considering their workload - perhaps those in I.T. have the time for such activites but not your average GP.

I'll re-iterate for your sake, that I said we ate 'space cake'. There might be a faint possibility that it was not just a cannabis cake. Or am I reading too much into what I said?

 

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I've been to the Dam and had 'Space Cake' and as far as I was aware it contained only cannabis as it's psychoactive substance. I find it highly irresponsible for somewhere to sell something without telling you the ingredients and equally irresposible for the individual to take something without knowing what is in it.

I would echo B20's and some of the other comments: even the ordinary weed available in the cafes is far stronger than anything that MOST casual users have had in the UK. A few years ago I was a very regular smoker but never had anything like the stuff available over there.

Earlier this year, went to Dam on business. End of play, into town, few beers. Went to the "Bush Doctor" on the canal near Reguliersdwarsstraat. Got some of their "regular" weed, skinned up a neat one, smoked it. Ouch ... I was out of sorts well into the next day.

Edited to say that you do get crystals on a lot of the grass over there: something to do with it being selected strains that are hydroponically grown, I think the resin on the leaf crystallises (or something ), they're not putting PCP in yer weed ...

Cannabis stays in the system for up to 28 days, so it might be some time before she feels better. You might want to consider flushing out he system with as much mineral water as possible. Take some extra vitamins, esp. vit C. A mild sedative like Valium might help to calm things down.

Your friend may have taken other drugs other than cannabis, if you get a private blood test or urine test they might be able to tell you. It could be anything from acid to pcp's.

The important thing is never to take any **** that you dont know 100% (ish) what it is, you are cruising for a bruising that way.

I am not experienced or have enough knowledge of this to offer advice. You have alreay taken her to a doctor, so I guess it is a case of monitoring her closely.

Although I've smoked it before (occassionally!) I would welcome suggestions as to what's safe for a nice gentle giggly experience.

Don't want anything harsh, and can't afford to be 'out of it' for days on end.

I assume there are different varietys?

Also, any recommendations as to venue?

I remember the first time a friend came to N.Africe with me... he had a little joint of pollen and sat there saying "I cant feel anything"... 10mins later he was flying like a bird...none of that "Stoned" effect.

 

Some space cakes contain LSD not dope - not through people trying to trick you - just thats what some places term 'space cake'. Sounds like a possibility though 48 hours is quite a while to be having a bad time.

re the spliff, the strength of weed out there varies massively - depends what you ask for - If you don't know what you're getting you could get a bit knocked out, espescially if you don't normally smoke / have it all to yourself (but this would just be short term, you shouldn't be feeling rough a couple of days later)

The space cake sounds the more likely culprit to me. Symptons sound a bit like a bad trip

Ive got a mate who for most would be concidered a MASSIVE smoker ..around 10 big joints a day everyday. But always typical krap hash.

Now one day he had the chance to try a very very fresh Durban poison oil joint. The absolute genuine article. (Came from friend who lived there)

This he smoked on his own...... never the same since!!!

most multi vitimin tablets today are working on a time release method. I am sure it is been applied to drugs as well. maybe not in this case...... ut it wont be long.

 

I've had this The only real cure for your friend IMHO is time.

In first year at uni all my mates were into cannabis so I thought I'd join them for sesh. The tabacco in the joints made me light-headed so I picked up a huge bit of hash and bonged the lot with a few 2 litre lungs to boot I felt nothing so I kept taking more and more Then it ALL hit me at once and reality as I knew it totally changed/collapsed I didn't know if I was dead or alive, I couldn't tell the difference between reality and the dream world and my perception of time was totally gone. Somewhere in the distance I could hear my friends tyring to comfort me but I couldn't relate to anything in the 'real' world.

I finally came down and managed to sleep later that night but it didn't end there. The total detachment from what is real and what is not remained for days and I'd have panic attacks and see things that can't happen in the real world The worst effects were gone after a month or so but for years after I'd sometimes have a 'moment' where I could feel myself panicing or questioning reality

Thankfully I'm better now and it never really impacted on my life too much outside those first few weeks. I've never touched drugs since FWIW, the effect was so strong that a part of me still believes that the life I am living right now (as I type on this computer) is all a dream and that my body is still lying on the floor in halls in Dundee. If I die tonight it wouldn't be any surprise to wake up with my mates around me saying, 'what the fvck happened to you Kenny - you've been out for an hour'

The mind is a very powerful thing and drugs can unleash that power. Best not to mess in my opinion

Hope your friend is well: Try to comfort her and reason with her that this is the real world and that in time her brain will figure that out again. During my 'moment' I was soooooooo scared, what we believe to be real is so important to us and when we loose our feel on that its how I would imagine hell Comfort her, give her something to focus on and try and gently talk her round
