Sempers I agree with much of what you are saying when it comes down to a standard car.

The one I am driving at the moment is lowered to the floor on eibachs has big fat tyres and is supercharged so it is a bit more of a handful near the limit that the standard ones I have driven.

Steve - missed that; How does the chassis cope - there was a small but detectable amount of flex/torsion/call it what you will in my mates when leant on hard - I'm guessing the bigger tyres etc will increase that effect? Or is yours beefed up?

sorry...if I offend mx5 owners/lovers...but I hate em.

Having driven one I found it slow, dull and uninteresting. I think they look pants, and there are so many better cars out there.

I do respect the fact that I am more interested in performance, BHP and the more "boy racery" side of motoring...so in a few years I could start to see the point of mx5's.

I know I must be wrong because so many people say good things about them, but to me, they are terrible cars...

sorry.

Evo, you aren't wrong, it's just the wrong car for you. No problem with not liking it, at least you put your point across in a fair manner

There are plenty of performance cars out there that I don't like, some I have driven, some I haven't. I took a MX-5 out a couple of years ago and thought it was OK, but a bit uninspiring. At the time though, I was into my speed, acceleration and it just didn't match the Scoob. However, having got a bit older and (hopefully) wiser, I may be going back for another go

Just a shame so many people look at them (and other convertibles) and think hair dressers car straight away

Andy, if i get one, and you come round to laugh, i'd be happy to let you drive it then watch as you tell me, sobbing, that it handles better than your Toyota Corolla saloon with spoilers...... ;-)
