M25 Jnc 6 to Oxted last night 18.45
#63
The P1 in Oxted is a certain optitian, I spoted another P1, subaru style number plate with tints about 17:40 at junction 6 going up the dual towards Caterham.
As for Lancasters I've stopped using them after certain problems with my EGT sensor. Now use Cheam who are much better IMO.
Great there are so many of us like minded souls in the area. I can almost feel a Surrey/Kent boarders mini-meet coming on.
No-one seems to see me though, guess I need a bigger spoiler

Nick, I think DBM stands for Dark Blue Metallic (dependant on context) and a Terzo was a special edition launched in 1997. See http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm#1.3
for details.
Kent, as for organising a mini meet I'm more than happy. Those interested could post here so we can get an idea of who's interested and numbers. I know some people are happier just on the board rather than meeting up. But there seems to be a reasonable number of us in the Oxted/Westerham Surrey/Kent A25 borders to make it worthwhile. Especially given then main Surrey meet tends to be Guildford way and has got rather large.
We must thank Nick for starting a thread that has generated such interest. Anyway, off now to check out the stuff I'm selling on ebay so I can afford some more mods.

Back to Lancasters....
...When the sychro on 4th & 5th failed on my Scooby, the service manager (since left, I believe) said that it wasn't a big problem and "perhaps you would like to change your driving style, sir"

I could tell my whole Lancaster's story but halfway through I'd probably lose the will to live. Rest assured though I had to get the car flat bedded to Scoobysport and they sent it with induction side removed and all the bolts rattling about on top of the intercooler. Pete was not amused and neither was I.

Soapy - my cat is fine, black, furry, pain in the **** at times. Well, that visit to Scoobysport (when pete fixed the problem Lancaster's couldn't/wouldn't in five mins) lead to a Tek3 map to compliment the full decat they'd done previously. Those cats are in the loft and will never be let out.

never been to a 'Meet' so might be a laugh to see what it's all about. Suspect more for the real enthusiast to compare mod notes - whereas I can only boast a boggo WRX with warranty safe PPP (oh - and the towbar of course!).
That said - still interested - so that's 1

Never thought it would get this long and still no closer to identifying the Safeways Scoob! As for a meet- might be quite a laugh - there might be quite a few requiring the car park area of the grasshopper.
But do i turn up in the scoob or just with my scooby cap in my rebuilt/restored 72 Spitfire with the 2L straight six, Stage 3 head Triple DCoe carbs? hasnt been out much this summer due to the required installation of a new competition box and beefed up transmission.
approx 170bhp and dare i say it sounds better? than the scoob especially when the carbs start breathing properly or the unburnt fuel re-ignites when you take your foot off the gas!
Dont do Triumph meets-not really my cup of tea - literally.

A meet would be interesting. Do any of you guys have a bugeye with Gruppe B headers or similar? I'm thinking about having that done next but I'm interested in the noise level as I've been told that one loses the Scooby "burble".

Excellent. You looked like you were just applying the power when I saw you! Hopefully pimp tints didn't obscure the wave!
Nick,
Excellent to hear about the spitfire. I have a 1967 split screen VW in FT pink and cream (not as bad as it sounds!!). Has an excellent backfire, no cats! and ceramix exhaust. Nice!
Any other scooby owners with odd second, or third!, cars?

Dunno about odd but I've just purchased a Series III Landy which I'm about to rip apart. I bought it mainly for dog and logging duties as well as to satisfy my lust for spending money on cars which will hopefully be a lot cheaper than the Scoob has been.
#78
Perfect. Ripping cars apart. Can't beat it! I was deciding whether to do the welding on the van but thought would be a bit much. Am taking it to some place in Ealing that did some chef's split screen! Should be nice and cheap then!
#79
ah, also at meets do you go by your Scoobynet alias or you proper name? - if so i shall have to change my scoobynet name from my proper name - i cant be having conversations with Sennadog Lofi soapy sam etc etc if i am being called nick - just wouldnt be in keeping!

mmm - another coupla entries and this'll make 5 pages: got to be a record for "was it you?", though we've gone off on a few tangents since Nick's original post.
Looking forward to the "KentSussexSurreyBorders Scooby Mafia"(phew) Meet. Grasshopper good suggestion as acres of tarmac - do you have to ask them?
Other motors - none. But bet nobody else drags an ex-Army 1950's 1-ton trailer behind their Scoob! Suspect I won't bring that to the meet...

Scooby Regular
I'd deffo be up for a meet at the Grasshopper - loads of space and very central for most/all those on this thread. I'd guess we'd probably need to speak with 'the management' as they often have other events on there - the FTO owners, Ferrari owners and MR2 owners are definately some of those who have frequented the carpark/venue in the recent past.
Beancounter, is that your van that sometimes parks in the entrance to the Station in the Cul-de-sac?

No Russ, mine is the same but a lighter pink....Financial times sort of colour.
His is in very good nick as well. Mine has the safari windows at the front for shooting traffic wardens and collecting flys in your teeth!
Has anyone here put an induction kit in? and did the boost increase? Mine is up to 1.4 and apparently in danger of blowing the engine!!

Kent / Surrey Massive roll call !
I'd be up for a meet at the Grasshopper - massive car park. Weekend lunchtimes are best for me (kids etc...)
Regards Lancaster Sevenoaks, I used them for my first 1000 mile interim service and thought £100ish was a bit steep for an oil change and a few bolts tightened . Now I use Scoobysport in Essex, a bit further but considerably cheaper.
I'm on a mission to Uckfield on Saturday so I'll keep em peel for you all !
Andy.

agree re weekends only
how about Sun mid-morning ish?
I'll bring a couple of the kids anyway (in the trailer!)
Already trying to work out how on earth I'll explain to the wife how I even heard about a meet - let alone why I would want to attend?!
