clean install on a new western digital raptor, install motherboard drivers, install catylist drivers and go.......
oh and download rad tweaker
That's it
I did manage a smidge over 19000 but I was pushing it too far and getting "glitches, hangs and general nastyness"
Backed off to keep it stable, and keep the cpu under 65 deg

Cheers,
Nick

The LAN party started on Friday morning and I only finished the machine on Fri afternoon. Haven't had time to really d!ck about with it yet but tbh, my suspicions about that 3.0c Costa Rica were correct. Great luck getting one of the only costa chips in a market filled with Malay ones
Also, I really, really hate the tubing that comes with the Waterchill kit. Complete and utter pap
. Soooo inflexible. Due to the layout inside the machine, one of the pipes needs to bend very well and that horrible stuff is near rigid, so is twisting the cpu cooler block and pushing the Res off of it's mounts.............
Suffice to say that the back of the core seems barely past room temp, but even a 20 mhz oc on the gpu results in artifacts.......
Basically I won't know until about a week from now when I have managed to source some quality tubing to replace that rubbish and settle the cpu speeds down. Add to that surprise surprise the TwinMOS Winbond CH-5 sticks don't OC at all and you get just how unimpressed I am ATM. Saying all that tho, I am over 20k on stock gpu speeds, 3.7 Ghz and sub-400 ram speed atm.
Back to gaming........
