how do you rate the Evo to the Scooby mate ? never drove one myself ( but would love to ) my mate had one and described it as a rally car with carpets he only kept it 3 months as the ride was sooooo hard ?

thanks

Mikey999.
The difference between the Evo 8 and the 4 scoobies ive had, is quality. The build seems much better, the interior is better put together all round. Yes the ride is tighter and a bit more bumpy, but is altogether more responsive. I had a few scary moments in my V5 type R, I cant imagine the traction on the Evo allowing me to get out of shape, but I suppose only time will tell. Right now, I love it and am a convert.

Why did Mitsubishi steal Subaru's MY00 classic alloys design?

Hate the orange in the rear clusters, otherwise v. nice!

Trev, have you experimented with taking the bung out of the exhaust yet? Assume the pics are "bung in"?

Pick mine up tonight

Hi Matt.
Bung has been in all the time so far, but a friend of mine has a yellow 8 with his bung out, apparently gives a bit more power, his is extremely loud and throaty.
Nice to hear you get yours tonight, dont forget to post some pics.
R U going to migrate to http://www.lancerregister.com too, I did, forum is okay, not as extensive as scoobynet though.
Good luck

Hi Trev, yeah I thought that that would be the sort of comments about the bung. My brother's got an Evo VI with a Blitz Nur-spec de-cat and when he takes the bung out, it is really loud.

I'll have to experiment on sound, albeit coming from a Scoob with a de-catted scoobysport system, loud isn't a problem

Keep em peeled for the pics

Red face

Managed to get a go in a silver FQ300 at my local Mitsy dealer yesterday. The thing that surprised me is the lack of kick it gives when you accelerate. I assumed that with a high power turbo'd engine there would be a real kick in the back. Needless to say the thing was fappin quick. By far the quickest thing I've been in or driven and without doubt the fastest I have ever been around a roundabout(thank god it wasn't wet).

The one thing that let it down for me, and is probably the case for most modern high powered cars, is the speed you have to travel to get the feel of travelling fast. I have an Elise and I can drive it at half the speed of the Evo but feel like I'm going the same speed. When the salesman is driving at 110+ along country lanes and you don't feel scared there must be something wrong with these crazy things

Still, lucky git, I'd have one!!

Karlos.
Its True. you dont really appreciate speed in the Evo, it was one of the first things I noticed moving from the scooby, it may because of the ride height, not sure, But it is fun.

You might find it go`s a little better if you remove the bung from the back box
For some reason the dealers seem to leave it in???
It might also sound a little less like a hairdryer.
Good luck with your service costs and while your there ask them how much a set of front pads are???
Now you know why I choose to drive a Subaru.
Great car tho

Cool

Someone said that the VIII looked more aggressive than the VII. I really dont think so. Compare them side by side and you'll see what i mean. The VIII is alot more civilised if you can get a civilised evo LOL!
