I'm no cassanova, so what the hell do I know! lol. Seriously though, as has been said, be yourself, listen to her and react to what she is saying. Stay off controversial topics for the first date, and yes, that does include "Do you take it up the ***?"
As for being shy, I do know how that feels, yeah yeah, I *know* the bbq pics don't show me as being shy, neither do the camping ones, but that's the sharky me, not the real me, anyone who trully knows me knows that I am fairly shy, and thus I know what it's like meeting some fantastic woman and thinking "gulp, I'm out of my league here" Well, you're not, talk, be polite and curtieous (sp?) and you'll go far.
Oh, and make sure you do NOT have Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson on the CD player when you pick her up

last time I had to *hit* on a burd, I invited her to my place after work for a cup o tea, it was on her way home, then I persueded her to have a glass of red instead and then opened the bottle near her and tipped loads down her top

Just tell her you've only just split from your ex, and you can't wait to get into another womans knickers for a change. Also tell her its probably best we have a casual sex relationship for a while, since knowing that lazy lard **** of an ex the split will be messy so you've got a bit of post-split baggage to carry around for a bit.
