I was only really interested in un equeal length headers so to not loose the Scooby burble.

Reply from Gruppe-s (the day after I mailed them, very impressive!!)

Hi Neil,

For 5 units, we can do $500 shipped to the UK and for 10 units we can do $460 shipped to the UK. Note that in either case we will need to ship all the manifolds to one location.
Thanks

Max
www.gruppe-s.com

As per todays converstion rate that works out to:

$500 = £309.80
$460 = £285.02

I have re mailed Max to see what price he can do 15 or 20 untis for. we need to work out where we will be getting all of the manifolds sent cause the person who recieves them is going to have a hell of a job getting them all shipped out again.

Who lives in the Gloucestershire area? I may (no promises yet!) offer to get them shipped to my works address and people in the local area could pick them up and I could send out the others (£12 postage each I think).

What about a group buy on wrap then?b Looks like we are going to be needing enough of it!!

Bloody hell.... £285. Duty would have to go on that aswell wouldn't it? Either way it should be less that £350. Very tempted by that.

So all in for ten units it should be £285, plus £40 duty plus £12 UK carriage cost...... about £340.

That's very very tempting (stop me.... im supposed to be selling the bloody car!!!!!)

Yep - I'm in. That's a cracking price - nice one! Let us know if the price comes down further (for the 15 or 20-unit purchase).

Sorry - I'm not interested in equal length headers. I want to keep the boxer burble as well.

Just got another reply from Max....

Hi Neil,

At the moment we only have ~12 units of the manifolds left... the next batch will not be ready for another month or so as the factory is relocating at the moment.

The manifolds we have left are designed for the GC chassis Impreza's as the GD chassis unit shave sold out.

I would suggest getting the gorup buy closed ASAP as the remaining manifolds we have will not last long.

I believe the taxes are generally a multiple of the units being delivered.. but there is probably some sort of flat borkerage fee in there for the entire shipment.

Thanks

Max
www.gruppe-s.com

I mailed him back asking to reserve 10 for us so we need 10 DEFINATE buyers for this ASAP. Any others will have to wait till the next batch is ready.

The gaskets come with the kit, if they do not turn up then just give them a mail or a bell and they send them off FOC.

The only extra charge it the £40 duty which is paid on delivery to the UPS guy or who ever. I asked Max if this would just be multiplied by the number of units and his reply is as above.

£285.02 + £40 = £325.02 + £12 carrage = £337.02 (£340 for the original buyer shall we say)

This total amount for this group but would be over the limit of my credit card by a long shot so I will not be able to do this part of the deal, who is willing do do this for us as well as ship them off?

I have not looked into the wrap group buy as yet, will do if I find time.

Are there any other places that sell it?

Why not get them shipped to a dealer or fitting station and do a group 'buy' deal on fitting these, then everyone will have to go to the dealer in question for fitting and avoid posting out in the UK.

If these will still keep the scooby warble then you can put my name down for one.

Cheers

Can someone help me out a little here. I have just had a look at some of the other threads and have some questions.

I run a my99 with PPP and full decat, will I need a remap after having one of these fitted?

I also have a standard turbo, will I need an uprated one with this manifold?

Am I genuinely likely to see a 25 lb/ft increase from the manifold and more importantly to me, will it remain at the bottom end rather than just making it more powerful at the top end?????

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Rich

Nice one Wuz

N1 Span, probably cause the dealers will only take them if they fit them all and people wont want to go to the dealers as it may be a long way to do it.

If it should be sent to any dealers, it should be Impreziv but they are a bit far for some people!

Yes you will need a remap - probably dont have to but to get the full benefit you will.

Your standard turbo will be fine - you can play about with turbos later

Fitting the headers will probably result in a re-map. Not everyone will necessarily want their car (re)mapped at the same place.

Few options with regards to payment's.

Once we've got 10 confirmed buyers, each buyer could phone Gruppe S and make their payment over the phone with a credit card.
Don't know if that will suit everyone though some people might not have a credit card, although those without a credit card could send a cheque to someone in the group buy who would be willing to pay for 2 over the phone with their credit card?
Then it's a case of getting them sent to one location once Gruppe S have confirmed receipt of 10 payments.?

Question

within the current headers threadas here on SN I have seen that the gruppeS are both unequal lenght AND equal length...

which is it?

I also saw that equal length wont work so well with my new turbo (MD304 hybrid)

need to double check before any money changes hands...

also what about the 2 header gasket's and the 2 blanking plug's that we/you would need for the gruppeS ones?? where are they available from??

I understood that the Gruppe-S headers are still unequal length, but they're less unequal than the OE headers.

One more needed.

As for heat wrap, I got an interesting reply from Cooltek:

Hi

Thanks for mail

We would be only to happy to do you a deal, but:

We don't think that putting any exhaust wrap on a stainless steel manifold is a good idea.

Stainless steel is a very brittle material & we reckon there is a chance that wrapping it & thus keeping in the heat might cause cracking!

Think you need to take further advice ?

Best regards

John

I asked for a price anyway and got this:

Hi Neil

OK, will do

10 x C3025 (50mm x 25m) £269.00

10 x C3030 (50mm x 30m) £300.00

Price includes UK mainland delivery & VAT

Regards

John

Once we have a go for this group buy I will start one for the heat wrap.

I am fairly sure the headers are UNEQUAL length. The gaskets are supplied as far as I am aware. As for the blanking plugs I do not know.

Questions to ask Max at Gruppe-s (feel free to add yours):

Are they def un equal?
Do they include all gaskets. block-headers, headers-up pipe, up pipe to turbo?
Do they come with blanking plugs?
