Black "w" Reg Mini 1000, with following mods
6 x 10 black/silver alloys
Yokohama 165/60 tyres (lasted about 3000 miles a set..LOL..) but ok at £25 each
Spax adjustables all round
Uprated bushes
All chrome black colour coded
Corbeau GT8 seats aup front, rears removed
Steering column lowering bracket
Smaller Steering wheel
Dash top rev counter
1100 block (for torque) - 1380/1400 too expensive at the time
ported and polished big valve head
Piper high lift/long duration cam
double valve springs
Uprated rockers
Janspeed lcb manifold and straight through system
Webber 28/36 dcd downdraft carb on ported and polished alloy Manifold with K & N pancake filter (never iced up in winter and much easier to set up than the standard sidedraft carb(s)
Fiberglass bonnet with mods to clear filter
Alloy rocker cover
Electric cooling fan kit
Larger fuel tank
Small arches that didn't quite cover the front wheels.
Uprated brake shoes and drums
Went really well for a Mini, handled as well as anything I have ever driven
Sold it to a mate who ran it for ages.

I had an Escort 1.3L peice of crap. Basically in the space of a month or two of having it I had the engine replaced and sold it again, it was a nail. After my first car mistake I went out and got a newish Cavalier SRi and promised never to buy a car under £1k again.

I had a Renault 5 Gordini which was a fine little car, only problem was it couldn't go round bends or stop!!
Most fun I've ever had on 4 wheels was the 10 months in the Gordini!!!
Dom.

1977 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus 950cc (RHN 704R)
ran that ****** into the ground.
I couldn't park it on a hill otherwise the gearbox emptied itself of oil.
Driveshaft kept dropping out when going round corners
Gearlever snapped off, had to drive around in 2nd gear for weeks..
Couldn't work out what this ticking noise was - until I spotted all the cords hangout of the tyres and flapping against the wheelarches..

Well mine a was an x plate MG Metro. It had red seat belts, buckets seats and 4 additional spot lights lol
VERY lucky I lived at the top of a hill, cos it needed a bump start at least 3 times a week lol

Mini 1275 GT V reg 1980
Bored out to 1380 Avonbar conversion.
Great fun car......only problem was the head gasket used to keep blowing as the bores were to big really for the block.

Dutton Phaeton S3, 1600 X-flow (ford) engine, the closest thing I could get to my dream Caterham for 1500 quid. Had it for 4 yrs. It felt fast but I know it wasn't. Also melted a piston trying to get down the M3 in a headwind - aerodynamics of a brick. Damn good fun delivering pizzas in it (holiday job).
thecirsh, you're not my brother are you? He put his gold Mk II Capri 2.0S through a Chinese restaurant while still on the cover note of the insurance.

D reg Mini with a Janspeed head and exhaust and 13" slotmags
I only had that for a few months til I had to sell it but it was replaced by a Mk2 Cavalier 1.6L. Crap suspension but healthy motor-easily a match for my mates Mk2 xr2's. Til it came to the corners.
Took out a fence with it strangely enough...
