Question

How soon you looking to buy? I'll have a Kyosho V-One for sale in the next couple of weeks, just stripping it down & cleaning it at the mo.

my mates got a team losi xxxs (electric), ready made and ready to go, all the geometry settings have been done for you. good if your only just starting off, won't have to go through the annoying process of cleaning a petrol one every time you use it. interested???????

Reading this post has inspired me to pull my nitro Kyosho Taipan off the shelf and get her running. She started fine this arvo but is not idling well and stalls. Think I need to run a few tanks of fuel through it and clean out the gunk.

Does nitro (Model Technics Quikfire) go off over time as mine is about 18 months old? If so does anyone reccomend a place to buy some more?

Simon.

yeah i think the nitro does go off, I have a nitro boat, and the fuel went off over the winter would start and stall after a few seconds bought new fuel and all was well.

as said before.

Electric is easy to run run and maintain cheaper to buy.

Nitro More fun, more exspnense not so easy

IMO of course

if you want good cheap batteries check this site out. (got to model section) havent been able to beat these on price and they still work well in the car.

Yep there is something about nitro power - basically the raw sounds and smoke you get when you rev it. A lot more hassle than batteries but the ultimate in boys toys!

did someone say twin ??

built this early this year, ran it about twice and then moved house so I have had no playtime - I'll get back into it soon - It sounds feckin mega when both engines are howling @ 30K rpm

needs a bit more setting up - gearing, fuel syphoning etc, other than than its more or less done - got a sccob shell aswell

Cool

did you find much better performance with two engines? How do you know both engines produce the same power etc?

Do all you guys have pull starters on your nitro cars? I see you can use electric starters - anyone use these as I cant find much info on them anywhere online?

Yes - it will just donut on the spot if you dont ease the throttle open. For some reason its not a fast top end as the car with a single engine, but it gets to 40 + in a blip - it still needs the gearing working on.

As for electric starts, I had 2 custom made for this car

one is knackered now as the one way bearing smashed itself to bits. The starters are basically 1/4" drive sockets that fit over the one way bearing of the pull start - the aluminuim housing you can see just holds em in place - just turn the starter with a 1/4" drive wobble ended bar & yer off - repeat for next engine. A mate has some video footage of the car on its maiden voyage - I'll try and get it off him.

Like I said it still needs work, like the fueling balancing and probably a 2 speed gearset - bit of a crowd pleaser though
