STI8ppp-7 vs P1
#32
Pete,
Been in my da's new STI alot, even he says if it wasnt a company car he would have bought a P1, he regularly takes my car and not his own. Since he is twice british champ at rallying i think we can vouch for his driving.
A P1 with big brakes, bumpsteer (no understeer), decent extra's etc is better under braking than an STI (weighs 15% less for one), corners better (dont give a crap about the LSD, most of us cannot make that count for anything!) and has 15% or more power to weight ratio over the STI.
Also it looks better!! Now add in the fact its gonna depreciate by VERY LITTLE and is odds-on to become a Cossie type classic and you have a very good car. You can also buy extra warranty for it.
Mine is for sale but only cause i need a house!! Otherwise i would argue till the death my car was the best bang for buck car you could buy! (http://www.p1f.co.uk/P1.jpg)

Yeah cheers for taking me out in the P1 Saturday Steve. It's a great car and well worth the money you're asking for it. Got me thinking long and hard.
I'm off to the US till mid July in a week so I'm going to have to make my decision after that.
Thanks again for helping me out and I'll keep you all up to date with my decision in the up coming weeks.
Bloody hard decision I tell you.

My P1 has over 16 months original warranty thankyou very much, and then I've got a 2 year option on that. And even if the P1 was out of warranty it just means mental modding, here we come!

I too was faced with the same dilema recently.
STI7, 1 yr old 10k miles, or P1, 3 yrs old 44k miles - both same price.
I went for the STI due to it still being in warranty, and the fact that it is an all round more modern and better built car.
Still love the look of the P1 but side by side to the STI7 it is starting to look slightly dated.
