All solid advice, I would have replied this morning, but my dad drilled through the phone line. Anyway, no I haven't won the lottery, just got the ways through inheritence to get one, even though the insurance is very high. As for all the rest of the advice, I would love to be able to say that to the dealer, but the problem is they are releasing the demo early cause they need to keep it for three months, but as I can't wait, they are releasing it as soon as this other one comes in. From where I am standing they are doing me a favour by letting me have the car early, otherwise I would have to wait till september to get it or a new one. Think I will put some pressure on though once I have paid for it tomorrow. Will hopefully be posting a reply soon saying YAY GOT IT. Can't wait speak to all soon, and see all in the south hopefully at the next meet. Bye for now

Mate I'm sorry but I think your looking at this all wrong.

You can go to any dealer and get a new 1 in less than a month, I know because I could have got a new next week if I wanted it.

You are doing them a favour make no mistake about that, Once you pay your money then the car is yours and they have no right to keep hold of it.

Don't let them get away with it.

LOL @ Korky`s last comment.
Good luck with the car, if I knew then what I know now I would have bought a house when i was young instead of dicking with cars that lose thousands of pounds in depreciation :s

Sorry STI@21 but as RB say's, you've got it all wrong.

From a 1.4 Pug to a £25k car speaks volumes to me about your demeanour and the authority you are commanding at this dealership, zero.

You are not doing them a favour, nor are you doing us a favour by allowing this dealership to think they are some how bending over backwards to accomodate your demand.

Once you have paid for the car it is yours to take, otherwise don't pay and buy elsewhere.

I once bought an ex-demo and got it for 2k below retail as in my book it was second hand.

Cant believe they are using a car with 144 miles on the clock as a demo. It is going to be wound up to impress the potential customer and with such a low mileage and the "running in" oil in the sump the engine will never be as good as a properly "run in" one. What are they thinking about?

ex-demo cars should generally all go for at least 1K less than retail, for a kick-off they should take the purchase tax off since that has already been paid.

Plus once it is your car it is YOUR car. If I was in your position no way would I want other people sitting in/driving my car.

Think about it this way, someone goes out in a test drive on saturday and wrecks your car, then you wouldn't be a happy bunny. Or.. say someone takes it out and ges caught speeding, wheres the ticket going to come? YOUR HOUSE! And it'll be up to you to prove who was driving it at the time.

Also when does the insurance on your Pug run out? I know that when I bought my scoob, having had my collection data arranged for some time I was told "oh no you can'c come and pick it up that day - its my day off" so I told them that I WOULD be collecting the car that day as that was the day my insurance swopped over and that other wise I wouldn't be able to drive my Fiesta to go and collect the new car!

Stick your ground - remember YOU are the one paying the £24k!

True my insurance runs out next wednesday as they did mention ages ago when I first ordered it that the car might not be ready until then. Am off down the dealership to have words with them tomorrow and hopefully will be driving it by the weekend.

If thats the case then the dealer shouldn't be selling the demo car.

If they want to sell it then they must be willing to lose it.

IMO it's your car once you've paid for it, if they don't want to let you have it then go some where else.
