Well done OJ mate.I was wondering how you got on since I saw you at the BBQ.I'm well chuffed for you mate, gives you a deserved reward after all the hard work you must have put in.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. You will have to keep away from Tiny's herbal sausages though if you want to keep that BF under control.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Well done oj! We only met you once at Southend - we were in the red scooby, I bet your son is really proud of you. I admire you for the willpower to stick to that diet! My husband starts a diet in the morning & forgets it by lunchtime
He calls it 'comfort food'

Well done, credit where credit is due.
Un-aided,drug free,that must be hard.
Bodybuilding for comps is not my scene but hey each to their own.
I could never face a judge who passed judgement on wheather my body was out of proportion, none symetrical,or what ever bearing in mind he is probably a has been,OR NEVER BEEN,over weight OAP.![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Car is going great thanks, the PPP is starting to earn its keep.
Shame you can't make the Brighton run, so will probably see you at Southend the following week. Then me & my old lady are off to the south of France to visit my brother,so will be out of circulation for a week or so.

Yoza - cheers for your comments... much appreciated.. all winners are tested, which is great..!!!
Flat Eric - yes it was a shame that I had to pull out due to another commitment.. must keep the other half happy as well.. Anyway, glad to hear that the PPP is earning it's way... Enjoy your trip to your brother's, are you driving there..?? I drove to the South of France many years ago, and loved it...!! Well, hope to see you on the 14th, again another engagement, but trying to get a late pass, so that I can pop down for a little while, as the venue isn't too far from the seafront...
Take care..
OJ.

Congratulations OJ!
I've been weight training for a couple of years now just to put a little weight on (skinny), and have a lot of respect for competing bodybuilders.
All your hard efforts have paid off.
Once again, well done.

Didnt want to contact him at BSM and mess his head up. I guessed he'd need full focus doing that.
Going to have a word with misses gran, shes got his autograph for me

Congratulations Oj,
Over the years I have been to watch a few mates compete in natural shows and what they have to put themselves through is amazing. So much dedication and effort for what seems like very little reward (in comparison to other sports).
Si,
Great video clips. I agree Ronnie Coleman is the man at the moment but only because Yates packed it in.
I went to see Dorian at a seminar in Wigan a few years back. He was weighing 300lbs! at only 5' 11". He was so massive that he only just fit through the doorway sideways because he was so thickly built. He had no chance walking through a doorway normally. At the end of the seminar he took his top off to do some posing. At this bodyweight I was expecting to see him fairly smooth (much like say Mike Quinn) but to my astonishment he was carrying hardly any bodyfat and looked in competition shape. Obviously at that level they are a bit more critical and so I would not see what a judge would as he would compete at about 18 1/2 stone.
The weird thing about the seminar was a strange atmosphere and I think it was down to his freakish size. Frank Richards was on stage with him co-commentating and he's a big guy (17st+) and he just dwarfed him. It looked like he would either go straight through the floor due to his size or just drop dead!
It's hard to understand but you had to be there to see it. No wonder they referred to him as 'the Shadow'.
Damian.

You are right, it's only been 3 months and takes half an hour to get them developed. I guess he's been training so much he cant lift them up anymore. Sour muscle oj

It think it is recent - posted 3rd June. IIRC, the date of the post reverts to American format if edited, as the first post was. So 3/6/03 became 6/3/03.

I thought so, too. Posted "days" first, then edited it as the date on the first page says March.
Anyway, it's been 3 days and puics take half an hour to develop, so why would I give him more time?
I guess at his age things take longer to do
LOL

Claudius - lol...
its my age, so everything takes a little bit longer.. You have to bear with me, my zimmer frame is on its last leg... Anyway, I will get a few pic's once I have receieve a set of photo's that I am waiting for..!! was hoping it would be here by now..
Little Miss WRX - The problem with the Manager at the gym, he is only interested in his title as the 'Manager'.. I had the local paper around the other day to take a few piccy's.. he didn't even raise an eyebrow..!! Anyway, had a lot of support from other members in the gym... Most didn't know that I won.. won't of hurt to just place a notice on the board advising everyone of my win.. but that's too easy..
Spen555 - cheers for the comments.. like most body builders you aim to be number one, but I love and enjoy my training, and everthing that goes with getting ready for a competition.. I still a lot of room for improvement, and working hard on my weak points, being ME..
..
As for yates, saw him back in the early 90's, amazing then.... and was very truthful at about his everything to do with Body Building, and I mean everything.....!!!
When I get my pictures I will post..

As this thread seems to have attracted the majority of Scoobynet body builders any advice on supplements? I've been using Met RX protein plus whey and bars but they dont seem to be doing much really!
I was also wondering what your opinion is on reps. I tend to stay at a constant weight throughout the sets always aiming for 8 - 10 reps but on certain exercises such as benchpress I seem to be stuck at a constant weight. Any suggestions? Cheers in advance.
And again, well done OJ! Respect!
