Repect OJ! Congratulations! You must be HUGE
I body built too (as mentioned on a previous thread) and I have nothing but respect for you guys! I want to get into it more seriously but I've hit abit of a rut in my training. I'm coming up to my third year of training and I've kinda lost the passion
I'm no where near as strong as you guys but i'll get there hopefully!
Super_Si, we have alot in common. We are both students, both weight train, both love scoobies and are both called Simon Apologies if any of those points aren't true
Again RESPECT OJ! Lets see some pics!

OK, in no particular order...
Flat Bench := 110kg 5 reps
Incline Bench := 75kg 8 reps
Machine Squat := 260kg Max Load 8 reps
Shoulder Press := 60kg 8 reps
What else do I need to include

Thanks to all..
No, I am NOT MASSIVE. For competitions my weight will be around 12 stone and my height being only 5' 8".. when I am not competing, I will be around the 13st mark... Yes, you can say that my muscles are bigger than the average person... Anyway, I love my training, and when I am not competing I enjoy a beer or two or three, plus a curry etc.....!!
It takes time to develope, and many hours down the gym, plus the diet, which is important as well.... LOL at davyboy - great diet, I must try that..!!!!!
Anyway, don't give up and believe in yourself... it takes time to build the foundation, which is the key..
ENJOY your training, and work hard at it..

I'm crap with the terminology, but after abit of googling I use a hack squat machine not a Smith. I think a Smith machine would physically KILL me and we don't have one at my current gym

wonderd why the figures were high.
Try using the free Olympic bar, alot harder and builds better.
My program gets me off machine and uses the weights. They build better then the machines do.

OJ, that's awesome, congratulations chap! Must have been tense when they were announcing the places, right? Will have a chat with you when we're at the same Essex meet...

Telboy - looking forward to meeting you ne of the Essex meets.. was hoping to do the run this weekend to Brighton, but promised to go to a surprise Birthday party to keep the peace.. won't be drinking as I am getting ready for another comp at the end of this month, in a different Natural association.. Yes, it was tensed when they started to annouce the last three places... the guy that I thought would be my main challenge ended up in third place, much to his discuss.. he was huge, but not dry or cut up enough... I was praying like mad for my win....!!
Little miss wrx - my BF% is low, very low... I have been training very hard and focused for the last three years, aiming to win the European Championship within fours years, so ahead of my target... still planning to continue as I have other targets that I hope to achieve, within the next three to five years..
Once again, thanks for all the nice comments and appreciation of my hard work..
Had a few pictures taken today at the gym, for the local paper 'Evening Echo', and hopefully they will place the article in tomorrows edition.... we will see..!!
OJ.. and still smiling..

You have to link a few pics! That's really great that you won at 46 years of age! Very impressive!
I used to train a few years ago, but unfortunately reached some sort of level where I couldnt grow or lose fat anymore That was at 85 kg with 11% BF I tried, super slow, eating more, eating less, eating protein, but it just wouldnt help. Kind of lost interest then, 90 kg and about 18% now at 190 cm
It's good to see you make it though! Keep it up!

thanks cc..
lol at super_si .... I know that lovely feeling isn't it fun.. .. yep, it was my leg rountine today, but mostly reps and with max weight as well, just as bad... has to be done.. taken me years to get my leg to the level that I am comfortable, but not the size or shape like Tom Platz.. but balanced with my upper body now...
To get the BF% speak with your gym, they should be able to help..
Had a lot of interested people at the gym, asking how I got on with my competition. I was expecting just a small notice on our board with my result, nothing big or fancy.. Do you think I am expecting too much..??

BF % is a calculation also, cant remember it off top my head.
Nasty isnt it OJ, legs just wreck. Concentrating on my bench press now. Its the one excerise i just cannot get to grips with at all.

I've not read all the posts on this thread,so may be a tadge hasty to reply, but what do you actually gain by looking like a plastic He-Man figure ??
Bodybuilding never did anything for me personnally, why not get to a normally proportioned size and call it a day-but keep fit and toned - why go to extremes ?, IMHO its looks ridiculous, I am sure I'm not on my own in that opinion.
Did you see those body builders on Graham Norton Last night? - what the **** was that thing with red hair - if thats attractive I'll show my **** in burton's windows.
this is a good physique:
this isn't:
all in my humble opinion of course.
get some pics up - lets see what you look like

bodybuilding is the fitness equivilent of a scoob......those involved think its the best thing going, those not directly involved but still slightly interested have a reasonable level of respect and the other 90% think its ugly and fail to see the point.

MJ - each to their own, I don't like war games with minature soliders, but respect those who do, as they do a hell a lot of research into their battles.. As to my physical appearance, NO I AM NOT in the MASSIVE MUSCULAR structure like LONE STAR, but more of the athletic type with slightly larger muscles than the average person.... For some, I am too small, for others just right and not over powering or sickly.. again down to personal choice.. When I get my pictures developed you can judge for yourself.. My intention was to pursue a path following my belief of health and fitness in a natural way, avoiding the number of additives available, if you know what I mean....
Anyway, thanks for the comments..
