in a certain issue of pc format with the shaved noggin of a member of scoobynet inside theres a review of ata + sata drives and the seagate came out firmly in the midfield, though what did seem a little foolish was that they testing it using a pci controller which surely negates the test and the pci bus would be slower than the asus motherboard option that im thinking about..........

the drives were praised for quiet operation but fairly average speed results which they stated would have been better if they had used a non pci controller and two drives on raid, but as a single drive upgrade it wasnt worth it, hence why im thinking of 2.
