But the odd other pic will come on here because it's mainly men here, so us women will have to put up with it.

Yesk there is an element of "lifestyle" built around the site, but some of that lifestyle isn't appropriate.

People get shot down in flames quickly enough if they admit to antisocial behaviour such as speeding, or drug taking.
But you are all perfectly happy to sit on a motor-orientated site and letch at women like a bunch of monkeys.

To be honest, as I man, I find the letching degrading. Why does it need to be on here? Is it really just another male pissing contest? I suspect there is more than an element of that.
Come on guys. I know girls don't find it offensive per se, but it isn't exactly going to make them feel at home now, is it?

I'm not being victorian: I'm being "grown up". It's part of being an intelligent consumer: I get the best **** I can from **** sites, I get good car knowledge from car sites, and I refuse point blank to buy tosh like FHM / Loaded, because I don't need to be told what to think/wear/what attractive women look like because I am capable of making up my own mind.

I agree that it's everywhere, TV, Adverts etc etc, but part of the appeal of scoobynet is that it is a bit of a haven from that sort of thing. It's cars without the ****.

Look at it this way: If everywhere was a nightclub, all you'd want to do is go to a nice quiet pub.
I'm not arguing against a swimsuit picture occasionally.
I even enjoyed the women appreciation thread. It isn't really the photos that are the problem: It's the pathetic comments that have to go with some of them.

Having read/endured ten pages of posts, 90% of which were simplistically presented arguments for **** punctuated by the nowdays normal level of pesonal abuse At last an element of maturity and sensible comment has entered this so called debate.

Although in an obvious minority, I would endorse the posts of Bros and T-S.

Scoobynet held an enviable position and as a result has received input from Prodrive, Team Principals & Drivers. There must come a point as Scoobnet continues to drift further from it's roots that it's prestige is undermined and credibility is compromised.

This "free" bbs exists due to the commitment of a small number of individuals and the advertising revenues generated. It is (or possibly was) a respected motoring board. How long before it's driven by the mentality of a 16 year olds & banners are populated by the Hot Sexy Housewifes waiting for your call or similar soft **** ads?

Top Gear or the Sunday Sport? Your choice obviously.

It's the people who have a problem looking at pictures of people (dressed, half or entirely naked) who have a problem.

Surely if this BBS is supposed to represent its members, some of it will be pictures of naked people? I see a naked girl every single day and have no problem with it! LOL Get real and stop being jealous of other peoples' nice bodies

If you decide to remove half naked pictures on the grounds that it isnt needed on SN like you could do, given the average moderator IQ, then please remove NSR, MS, CWE etc, too.

And take a look at spraforums or superhonda and see what type of pictures they post...

It IS the ugly people wanting naked pics removed, just like it's the UGLY chicks with thick glasses that are feminists. Everybody knows it, just some ugly people dont want to face it. Tough! LOL

If scooby net turns into maxpower.com or fastcar.co.uk then that would be a sign that this site needed to cut down on the pictures of women with their bits coverd up.Since I have managed to miss all these threads that are causeing the ugly's so much pain then I would have to say its not really a problem. The fact is the only argument that has been put forward for not having these pictures is the possibility that it cheapens scoobynet. Get a grip scoobynet is already cheap just like the cars. Look at the muppets a waste of bandwidth if I ever saw one. The fact is if you don't like don't look is a perfectly valid argument for fully legal, suitable for children of all ages, pictures. For those that don't think scoobynet is the right place for those pictures fine you are entitled to your victorian views so don't look at them but bear in mind the majority are happy to have the occasional look at a pretty girl since most of the ladies who post on here are RAF and most of the men on here are married to RAF's or married to madame palm.

Actually the thread topic came from discussions in the SN policy forum. Rather than the mods 'impose' their own personal viewpoint we've asked the community for thiers so that we can try and clarify things for everyone and by everyone.

As far as I see it there are 2 main 'camps'

1. It's a grown up BBS and we should allow 'FHM' and Cosmo level of pictures.
2. This is primarily a car BBS and allowing pictures of that kind to be posted cheapens the whole site.

Reconciling these viewpoints is going to be tricky, as no matter what you do you will miff someone off.

can there not be a random acts of fine looking peaps area where there kud b a warnign that if u r offended by not even naked people not to open threads. Maybe extreme but if u r 2 allow them in the usual non scooby or muppets section then u will still get the moaners but if it was a section just for us pervs who r too addicted to scoobynet to look elsewhere then the arguement of "if u dont like it dont look" can more easily (not that a bleedin obviously title aint enuff) be total if the area was purtely that
Just a thought as to how to bridge gap as at least then it will only be in one area that no1 xcan be surprised about

As scoobynet is a business I would imagine that it all depends on what Scoobynet Ltd's owner decides it's target audience is and what level of service and type of image it wishes to deliver.

I think it comes down to what is or isn't acceptable in a place of work. Nipples are not but bikini's are.

My AUI Policy @ work pre-cludes nipples, so I would technically not be able to view SN other than from home, or risk being disciplined. That would be a shame.

I imagine that would be the same for a LOT of people here & the inadvertant viewing of a dodgy pic (even if only a Page 3 type) may be enough to get a user into trouble @ work.

Therefore I do NOT want to see nipples etc all over SN & although the car-wash thread was visually delightful, feel that SN should not have such threads plastered all over it.

I think that Crapaud has made a very valid viewpoint, and one that I have to agree with.

All my web access at work is logged, and goes through a 'WebSense' system. I am pretty restricted on what can and can not be seen at work, and I would not like to see ScoobyNet get put into one of the 'Adult' catagories.
