Hi Plantie, ltns.
I think confining this type of image to individual threads with 'warnings' in the title is a reasonable idea.
According to something Michelle posted on another thread, her actions on the car cleaning thread was as a result of discussion with other moderators. She said "The cleaning thread in Member's has been the subject of a couple of complaints and I have now dealt with this after consultation with other moderators."

thanks for confirming that... thats is what I expected.
that post has highlighted that not everyone liked that thread... ok now what??
A solution must be found. This site IMO must give people the choice, it is for the good of the site.
The people who then don't like this sort of thing need not open it then. As a result there should be no more complaints...
It would be good to start rounding this debate up... its getting to a stage where people will not read the post! must be nearly 7 pages long!
And now a word from our moderators!!!!?!
Anyway I am of to have a Curry....

the moaners seem to have done a runner and its just the sensible gals left
Nothing wrong with a bit of girly **** if its in the right place, its just lads being laddish. Same as i wouldn't object to the girls having pics of blokes as long as they were labelled as such so i didn't have to read the topic lol

I also have a degree with honours
so your use of ostentatious terms for short sightedness don't really intimidate me much, but please feel free to try.
embellishing your posts with words you probably don't understand
As for you Tasha, odd you have two posts in total and they both happen to be complaining about this topic...... shows you've really been part of Scoobynet before this, so can see why you're so upset by this downward spiral into the depths of depravity lmao...... either that or you're another girl who doesn't have the guts to use her own username.
I gave a point of view on why I consider these pictures not to be on scoobynet, nothing to do do with jealousy or prudishness.

Its pretty simple really its just like buying a sunday paper
if you dont like looking at naked women you dont buy the 'sunday sport'....
You buy another paper like the sunday times or the mirror.
So if you dont like something in a thread dont fecking look at all the pictures and then complain, just dont look at it in the first place...

So we're OK to post photos of grannies being mugged, and kiddie ****, and various photos of abuse and atrocities, as long as they're clearly labelled so the people who don't like that sort of thing can choose not to look?

My 2p.
The poster should be responsible enough not to post blatant ****. Entitle the post informatively. If you fail to do either then the post is deleted immediately by the mods.
Sorted.

Seems to me that could be taken to mean *anything* that *anyone* could find offensive or upsetting

The argument 'if you don't like it, don't look' is used frequently when anyone objects to something posted on this board. I'm asking where the line should be drawn if it's fine to say that about some things but not others.
My point is, maybe 'if you don't like it, don't look' isn't a particularly valid means trying to justify anything posted on SN.
So, seriously, where should the line be drawn?

Thing is apart from normal car talk, the only thing that seems to cause offense to a minority is half naked women...
So its pretty obvious and has been pointed out reply after reply on this thread alone and thats to make sure everything is clean, clearly headed and is only at the level seen on TV e.t.c
I mean if the BBC can show it why can we...

So we'll also be seeing documentaries and period dramas on SN soon then?
Mind you, there are enough repeats on here that it *could* be the BBC.

Why is it everyone thinks I have a problem with photos of women anyway? Have you lot not seen what I've posted on threads in muppets recently??! I have issues with some of the "logic" and arguments on this thread, but I don't have any problem with the photos.

Did wonder when this thread would come up.
I don't think many blokes on here would complain about seeing semi naked girls.
However, there is a time and place for it. My understanding is the board is classified as 12A rated, so, my guess would be, what you'd see in a 12A would be ok to be posted on here.
My thoughts would be, if this content is to be allowed on here, then do something ala Turbosport,. have a men *AND* womens room (can't have girls missing out on thier fireman pictures can we). How would it work? well, an option in your profile saying wether you wise to view that forum or not. the default setting being the option is disabled, thus you would need to actively turn it on, and maybe have a disclaimer when you enable the option to. The theory being, if you're looking at the forum, you chose to do so, thus you can't complain about it.

This assumes people will put a warning in the title. People cant post in the right forum as it is or post the same thing fifteen time. Look what happens when an impreza appears in a TV show or worse a car programme . Instantly we have 25 threads, at least . Then it dies down fro a week and some one comes in very late and the whole thing kicks off again. Leaving it up to people to post warning is asking for trouble as some/most idiots wont
I dont care either way but the fact is it will cheapen the BB by doing this and just enforce the theory that all impreza owners are 17 year old, wet behind the ears boy racers yobs .
