[Robot from Lost in Space style]
Warning Warning Danger Danger, possible semi clad women. Eek run away.
[/Robot from lost in Space style off]
Tis sad when a couple of complaints gets a thread locked. There was no exposed genatalia so whats the problem. Saw close to what was on the thread walking around London yesterday. Some people need to get a grip.
Thread title was not discuised. If you don't like don't look.
I don't watch Horror 'cos I don't like it. Won't get it banned for those that do tho.

Some people are way too sensitive on this BBS!
If Snet were 100% about cars, then many sections of the forums should be removed. Clearly it's not all about Sccobies, or even about cars in general. People are interested in other things, too.
This BBS has overly-sensitive moderation. I understand that Scoobynet LTD doesn't wish to be sued, but the moderation (i.e. representatives of Scoobynet LTD's interests) needs to be relaxed. A good example, as mentioned, was the "Girls washing cars" thread. No pretensions about what the thread was to contain. What's the big deal? It's utterly harmless.
Perhaps some sort of visible notification could be used if a thread comtains images. That shouldn't be too tough to do - just render a notification image file if <img> tags exist in replies. That system would be blind to the actual image itself (and would pick up smilies as well) - but the alternative would be moderation of images before they're posted. That's not desirable or realistic.
To a degree, people should take responsibility for their own web viewing. If you don't like it, look away.

Typical male response, not giving a thought to it from a females perspective
Its nothing to do with being
* fuddy duddys
* not into 21st century
* boring
* politically correct grannies
* get a 'kin grip
Would be interesting to know why you think us girls like to see pictures of half-naked females in scoobynet as I notice that nearly every post in this thread refers to female pictures.
Would you all be in such full agreement if scoobynet was a predominately female user board and pics of males were posted in same context. Bet there would be some complaints then, scoobynet isn't just for guys only I hope.
It boils down to the same reason why females don't buy the car mags, which feel the necessity to show scantily dressed models, in hope it will increase their sales.
If scoobynet feels it necessary to allow this, I hope it will be contained in one forum, so we are given the choice if we want to look or not. Not all thread titles are indictitive of what the content is.
I don't find half-naked/naked pictures 'offensive' but what I do find pathetic are the replies on these posts containing the pictures.

tasha - as you can see in my previous post i asked for other perspectives and it is good to see (also your first post i see - muppets would therefore say "what do you know", lol )
anyhow, i hardly think this board is covered with such posts, it's well run and well moderated and generally the thread title tells us what's inside.
but yes tasha, i wouldn't want to see the board covered in pictures of guys...so i do see your point. fact of life that blokes tend to dominate the car world and most members here are male.
oh i'm just waffling now...

If you cant understand what the contents of a topic such as the "girls cleening cars" thread is going to contain you must be a moron.
You dont have to open the thread, just like you dont have to watch a TV programme with a sex scene in it. I thought the UK had got over this pomposity, it's a good job scoobynet isnt French is all i can say.
As long as there is no pornography content, what's the problem?
And throwing in the card that if women did this kind of thing men would freek, utter coblers, why would we? That certainly hasnt been the case on NASIOC, the North American Equivilent of scoobynet, and the USA are actually more prudish than Europe when it comes to images of this nature.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=361952
I see no problem at all with the kind of images shown in threads such as the car cleaning topic that was locked.
Thanks for asking.

if a topic is titled girls washing cars why on earth do you morons who are offended by it read it lol ? Its like a vegetarian going into a butchers and complaining that the meat offends them. The topics clearly labelled so you know not to look.
I think its far more a case of sour grapes, we have a bunch of insecure women threatened by photos of far more attractive girls on the board. At least be honest girls, doubt you'd be moaning if they were pics of less attractive women, have the honesty to say i dont like seeing bikini clad models on here because it makes me feel insecure. Hell i bet half the blokes would be honest enuf to say that if there were loads of pics of ripped male models on scoobynet.
Scoobynet is being ruined by idiots who just cant mind their own business. There was no pornography, just a few pics of women in bikinis and the lads having a laugh and a joke. Go the a motorshow this year and see how many lycra clad models there are there then complain about that and see how far it gets you.
Just waiting for some daft cow or old fart to jump in with sexist and degrading to women now. Which is utter crap because i know a lot of models, hell some of my best friends work at the motorshows and they love it. They like the attention and they earn good money from a glamarous job. WHo are you to tell them that its degrading them if they want to do it? Everyone likes attention, ive read a few posts on here with women saying how they love the attention their car gives them etc, yet its wrong when other women get attention because of their looks??? Jealousy plain and simple
My suggestion is if a topic is titled in a manner which will stop people looking at it at work. ie. Bikini clad carwash etc then its not doing anyone any harm. If that sort of thing offends you dont read it, in the same way that if you post about how much you loved the Barry Manilow concert you went to we have no right to complain about your taste in music even if we find it offensive.
Scoobynet is a community, not everyone likes the same things, i think its unfair to vet simply because a small number of people find this offensive when they dont even need to read it.....
either that or if were allowed to complain about offensive things im gonna start my bugeye campaign tomorrow by complaining about all topics relating to them...... lol just kidding

Who Complained?
I suppose they never read any car mags or papers and if this is the only information source that they ever use then they need to get a life.
at the end of the day is the forum run for the majority or the minority, as long as the pics are no harder than you would find in the mags everyone is mentioning then no problem.
Regarding the people who complained .......
JUST DONT OPEN THE THREAD!!!!!

Don't think anyone can have a problem with it as long as it's labelled as such - i.e. you have a chance to read it if you want to and not if you don't, no problem with the "girls cleaning car" thread as it's pretty obvious what it's going to contain!!
The only thing I can see a problem with is if a thread doesn't advertise what it contains and you open it at work etc.etc....maybe controls should be aimed more at this type of thread and the others left (as long as it doesn't turn anything more than FHMesq material ). I think the key here is giving people a choice, i.e. I don't partic want to look at threads with half naked girls in, but then put Petter up on the board and I'll be there like a shot ...people that don't want to see this type of thread will then have the choice as long as it's advertised in the thread title.
Anyway - I know most of this has been said already - just adding another girlie point of view

To say that guys would feel the same jealousy when they see the above male pics, then even admit to it. I think not!
Are you speaking for yourself here, because you are really a short ugly, grossly overweight, myopic guy and thats the way you think, so you assume everyone would think the same as you

My girlie point on this topic is....
I don't have too much of a problem with it, mainly because i'm a model myself so i'd be a hypercrit if i said they are degrading themselves stop it now lol. BUT if you guys DO want to see scantily clad ladies all the time, then perhaps a new forum on this site should be made especially for them gentlemen who wish to see these pictures. That way it would be best all round, the guys get to see their scantily clad ladies whenever they wish with no complaints and the rest who wish not to see it all the time can have their space and get on with other topics. I think this really would be the best way if it is so important, we need to keep the standards to this site and try to keep everyone happy, someone made a good point, this is a site for females too and its not that we are insecure as someone else mentioned, its just we are not male so wish not to see semi naked females all the time, nothing wrong with it but we don't like it as much as you men, as you can understand lol, just like some men would rather not see pic after pic of males
So like i say to keep everyone happy the best way it to create a new forum if its really important. That way theres no need to put warnings on threads and noone can get offended simple.
Hope this was a useful idea.

Why the need to start a new account to contribute to this thread?
I have no issues regarding pics of women or men, and I dont even look at threads that contain these pics. IMHO the people who object to these not even soft **** pics are prudish and need to grow up.
In short dont look at it

I'll join the band of "YES" to allow them.
But the problem is, some of the comments on here about people who have complained; are pretty shallow. f'rinstance , labelling
people : fuddy duddies etc etc.
Yea we have freedom of speech; this country probably abuses the privelage. But that doesnt mean just because someone disagrees
with you (as in the content that may be posted here); you have
a god given right to slag them off.
If the pics are banned, so what; go somewhere else for it.
But i come on this site cos its about scoobies, not flesh.
Perhaps its the people who are slagging others off that should get a life.

Nicely put Foot_Tapper, you hit the nail right on the head. I am glad that someone else notices the "dummy spitting" attitude of those not getting what they want all of the time.
We can't have this, so lets abuse the nearest target. Very mature.
It would be nice to please everyone wouldn't it?
Therefore I agree with the idea of separate forums that can only be accessed by those who want to have access to these picture, sounds like a very feasible, sensible and all round suitable suggestion/solution.
I don't see what the problem is with using other sites for finding piccies of some lurrrrvely ladies, why use Scoobynet?
Other than that, can people not put forward constructive criticism without resorting to having a go at people who don't conform to their way of thinking? Do we all have to have the same opinion and outlook on life????
NO WE DON'T so don't bloomin' expect everyone to and have some darn respect for those who differ!

My only concern is that with most things you give people an inch and they take a mile its drawing a line on whats acceptable and whats not is where the problems will be.
Plain and simple people dont play by the rules and ruin it for everyone else who do. Its normally these people who complain when they have been come down hard on.
I think a definite what is allowed and whats not should be posted anyone who ignores them gets banned. No I was drunk, I was upset, I wasnt thinking types get outs just lock the account.

haha thanks Tasha u made my day lol
Myopic is a complicated word for a girl who cant spell naive properly lol. Guess you managed to prove my point about sour grapes, looks like my comments really touched a nerve lol.
---"Are you speaking for yourself here, because you are really a short ugly, grossly overweight, myopic guy and thats the way you think, so you assume everyone would think the same as you "---
LMAO love the name calling it really shows me to be the immature one lol. Haha nice and shallow response too, u reckon someone who is short and fat would think in a different way to a tall thin person? So basically you are a bigot my dear, would i be even worse if i was coloured as well? because you definately sound like the type.
For your info im 6 foot tall and not in the slightest bit overweight. I also have a degree with honours so your use of ostentatious terms for short sightedness don't really intimidate me much, but please feel free to try.
If you learn to read properly, rather than simply embellishing your posts with words you probably don't understand you will see I never directed any comments towards you or any other girl, i simply stated that its wierd the way that women have a problem with topics when they involve attractive women.
As i said before if you don't like something you don't have to read it, its not like the topic was called new Sti 8 pics and happened to have nude women in it is it?
As for you Tasha, odd you have two posts in total and they both happen to be complaining about this topic...... shows you've really been part of Scoobynet before this, so can see why you're so upset by this downward spiral into the depths of depravity lmao...... either that or you're another girl who doesn't have the guts to use her own username.
Pssst tell me i smell next that'll work
