Trackers
Tracker will deal direct and send out their fitter to your door.
Until you prove that it is installed an active - you can drive the car - without any cover against theft.
£100 pa v loss of £20k seems like a no brainer to me....

I got my car last week and am also with Tesco's. I have heard stories of peeps getting retrieve only to find moniter is needed.. So i got tesco to send me a fax saying that retrieve will be ok.. Tracker is comming to my house to fit it tomorrow midday.
but i still expect Tesco to change their mind as they did for a friend. (with my fax as proof they can pay for it)
They also covered me for last week (theft included) as tracker was out of stock.

had a tracker re on my last scoob(tesco said ok). When sub ran out i rang tracker and told them i was selling the car and did not won't to pay for a year if car was going soon. Girl on phone told me, That was ok. And if i had car nicked just ring them up and if i paid they would find it.
Tesco will accept a Tracker Retrieve IF it was fitted
to the vehicle when you brought it and the documentation
you have says so, if the vehicle does not already have one
fitted they require that it at least Tracker Monitor..
That's what I was told by them anyway.

I have a NavTrak Proactive. First thing I bought for the Scoob for my own piece of mind not insurance. But, I did later insure with Tescos and satisfied there requirements.
I'm now insured with Liverpool & Victoria cos they were cheaper this time, and they don't require a tracker. In fact they didn't even give me a discount for having one
. You might want to try them for a quote.

Send off your Tracker Install certificate, alarm and immobiliser certs etc to LV and they will probably send you a refund of £xx.
They didn't require a tracker when I insured with them, although I already had one, nor did they ask about the alarm etc but after I sent the stuff through they refunded me £45!!!
What a result

I went with tesco for MY02 WRX and fitted Tracker retrieve only.
I was required to send them the fiting certificate confirming it was done, which states only retrieve.
They have this on file and I have not had anything back from them in the last year to say a problem.
This confusion seems very similar to the weird pricing costs people get when they add a PPP to their car. When I added mine it was a £50 increase for 7 months cover. But some people have been quoted crazy figures.
It must just be pot luck !

Well I phoned again and asked about requirements for Trackers. Tesco told me that as long as it's Thatcham cat 1 or 2 it's okay. These categories only relate to alarms and immobilisers don't they? Anyway, the Tracker Network says that their tracker retrieve is a Thatcham cat Q - which should be fine. If they argue that a Monitor is needed, I'll refer to the 2 previous phone calls and scream bloody murder. But it does sound like pot luck whether you need a Retrieve or Monitor - I guess it just comes down to who deals with the paperwork at the time.
I had Tracker Monitor installed on mine, £600 inc fitting £120p/a or you could pay monthly or quarterly. Seeing the other prices on here i think i was robbed.
saying all that i have now got it sitting in a box at home ready to sell to a new home. Mail me if anyones interested (obviously the price is lower).

Mine has an RAC Trackstar - and I pay the installments quarterly. Fitted by Alan Hart of Sounds Alarming - based in High Wycombe. He is ex. Porsche and so really knows his stuff and is now a genius at hiding them in Subaru's. Call him on - 07958967729.
