My engine will be coming off the dyno today and being installed for tomorrow night - it's going to be VERY tight, but I should be there in the Escort with lots of gee-gees and a very aggressive ALS strategy for a bit of fun... D:

Should be "around" the 460bhp mark, but will be having to take it easy until it has 700 miles or so on the clock, which means a lot of running in on Thursday night and then using the run down there to put the final few hundred on!

We have also booked the 9.29 chunnel crossing and failing the Escort being ready, will be in the Scooby.

i really can't wait... i'm trying to rmember the whole circuit but it just goes on and on and on...

the first howl uphill under the bridge, down to the first few bends, round the old start/finish, round the cambered lefthander, then round to the right, left, short straight, left, sharper right, kick back left, short straight into slippy cambered right and sharper left, dive downhill, then up, brake before the brow and off the brakes, then 2 rights taken as one (my "Tony Quinn" corner) then left over blind crest, big flat out dive downhill, up and over the crest to the left, down and deep into the left before round round round to the right under a bridge, head for the hut on the right, then dive dive into foxhole, it's straight (honest!) big compression, slight left, then round to the right but keep right, then apex late into blind over 90 left, and nack to the right, now flat out, ignore the lefthander, and round round to the left, under the trees, aaargh i'm starting to forget...

but still i remember the best bits, the fly over pflanzgarten, the sideways through brunnchen, the squirrely bits through the woods... and we'll be there again this weekend!!! yeehaa!!!

(wish i could remember the names of the corners... Harj, MattOz, Tavia, someone do this better than me...!)

I've thought long and hard about wether I can afford to go to this one, and my appetite was whetted by the fact that so many old mates are going. However, as I was approaching the green light in terms of bank balance, a ZX9R caught my eye and I spunked my kitty on it!!

So, MRK & JF, you may win the go-karting, but JF will never the drinking competition( Hide the tequila!!)

I'm missing out here, but Kawasaki ZX9R's are bloody quick!!!

Utterly gutted to be telling you this, but it now looks like I won't be making this. Don't want to go into details, but anyone that has been folling my other threads can probably make a good guess why. Unfortunately there is practically no way to remedy the situation in time for the trip. Safe to say I will be seeking 'compensation'

All that build up and excitement for nothing. Totally gutted.

Yeah!!!

Listen out for a late-arriving Impreza on Friday night. Only booked the ferry about 4pm yesterday as trip was in doubt until then. Therefore I was staying away from this thread so as not to taunt myself. However, as of 9:15 this morning everything is ready so I'll be there trying to remember which way the bloody circuit goes. I've only done one lap in the last 2 years! Hard to believe after the excesses of 2001. Looking forward to seeing all of the familiar faces so make sure you keep the bar open until I get there. The car was feeling good this morning but I have spent the last 2 years driving like a Southern Poof so hopefully I can remember how to corner at more than 25mph. I'm not planning on lapping "rally-style" this time Owain, but then again I have been known to get carried away when in the Nurburg region.

Looking forward to catching up with you Richard and Jason, I can't believe that Rubery is still alive, is he really coming?
