my dealer had a chap come in (just as I was buying mine) with his dad.

A p1 was rolled out,and his dad said "happy 17th birthday son"....

£31K car with full VDO Dayton system.....

Later found out that the son was a spolit brat (chopped in the P1 for an M3 @ 19.....)

His P1 insurance was £3500 Third party!!!!

To be fair though, if some of these guys are having P1's at 17/18/19 years old, where do you go (really) from there?

Long gne seem to be the days of 1.1 fiestas and SR Novas as your first runaround!

If you have a P1 @ 17, how can you genuinely appreciate the car as you really need to work up towards it.........don't you think?

I remember hearing a story from the guy at Lambourgini on Park Lane and he claimed that they had just sold a Diablo (new) to a customer in Leeds for £161,000. The car was for his son's 18th and the insurance was (are you sitting down!) £40,000 fully comp with a £9,000 excess.
