Video is great CW42. ****@d myself laughing when it suddenly flashed up "damn busses" and a really solemn tune came on!! Very funny. Isn't it strange how we don't look to be going that quick though? Not that we were speeding!! Anyway, we'll have to get more footage and put it all together. Thanks again. See you Wednesday.

I am in need of a bit of help though, I need some car passing shots, and can't do them on my own, so I need a camera operator while I drive past, any takers for one evening this week, maybe thursday?

Hi,

No problem (Macc @ 8PM), I'll order a "large" instead of a "regular". ;-)

I'll hang around, no worries.

Love the videos, but I cannot believe you are happy to stick your camera to the outside of your car at those speeds!

See you tonight, I may go straight to Macc i.e. don't wait for me at Marple.

I will show you tonight how strong this sucker sticks to the car, you really could pull a body panel off with it. As for the camera itself, I was careful not to get too near walls on the left, which on those lanes, was quite difficult.

I only seem to have enough space on my bt site for around 17 meg of film, time to sort out my website I think!
I will have to look into putting the film up elsewhere, will keep you posted.
In the meantime, I will do copies onto video tape if anyone wants one, but after the time it took me last time, I may have to charge this time round.
How much would you pay to see your scooby in a convoy?
chris.

And then there were 2!
Oh dear! What happened to everyone? First let me say a big thanks to everyone for turning up. I think you will agree, it was a good meet while we were all together, and the looks we got as we rumbled through macc up to the start of the cat & fiddle were classic!
The stop in whaley bridge was a good idea, where we lost the porche, say hello to him again from us, thouroughly decent chap. Did anyone get to show him what a scooby can do?
After that, it all went a bit pear shaped really. I must just mention the wrong turn I took in chapel-en-le-frith, I always do that, the sign says next left, so I turn, and lo and behold, the next left is a dead end street, hehe. I was laughing my head off when I saw you all start to follow me, I wish I'd found a roundabout, that would have been hilarious, oh the power of leadership, hehe.
After that, we were supposed to go all the way along that road, drop down to the hairpin, sharp right, up the hill, and next left, signposted "blue john caverns". Maybe some of you did, but I was following 2 blue MY99's and they went right, round the bend and on to sparrowpit.
Then it really went pearshaped, as when I got to the junction at sparrowpit, there was nobody about at all.
So, I went left, and headed along the chesterfield road, until the turn off for castleton, which I took.
All the way along there, and at the next junction I met steelx and pitchblack, who seemed to know where he was.
So off down to ladybower we rumbled, and finally up the snake, avoiding the lambs by the side of the road!
Into glossop, and steelx and I turned off to marple, and pitchblack carried on towards mottram, which in hindsight is what you should have done steelx, as you can hook up with the motorway network from the top of mottram.
A short stop in a layby for a pee, and down glossop road, thru past my village, and led steelx to the motorway.
I think next time we go out, we need to organise a route, and get some mobile phone numbers of 3 or 4 guys, so if we get lost, we can ring around and stop someplace.
Still, had a great evening, and will post up some film of the fly by you all did after chapel, did anyone else spot the pickup going down on its rim!!!
See you again soon,
thanks again,
chris.

lol class meet - really nice to meet everyone

I managed to stay up front in the lead out from chapel and got behind gav (leading) and another blue scoob (Mad Scientist - it was me in the MY03 WR Blue WRX) as we haired through some excellent twisties and onto Castleton eventually where we waited in a car-park but no-one else made it. Some class moments including a close call with a narrow bridge! I think I saw the first car behind me miss the left turn up the hill and that was where it all went the way of the pear.

Then from Castleton we headed back to the A6 through E-dale on some more twisties/fast straights and a really steep hill! The two other scoobs had such loud exhaust notes it felt like my car had a new zorst on it, excellent sound guys. Then I dropped back to near Marple and headed back through Macc as Gav went the other way.

Look forward to meeting everyone again in the near future.

Graham

Me, Gav and another guy in a rally blue '03 wrx went down through Edale into Castleton. Hung around for a bit then headed home. I got a foot and a half of air off a hump back bridge and the fella in the '03 (what was your name?) had a near miss on a tight right over a bridge!! Quite exhilarating really. We need phone numbers next time!!
Me and Gav figured you had all gone down snake pass. I'm going to plan a route for next time and print everyone a map. We need some designated stopping places for people to catch up and we DEFFINATELY need a pub stop! Who's up for that??

By the way, to the guy in the spanking '03....... nearly ploughed straight on at that tight left didn't you?!? must have shuck you up! Blame Gav, cos my tyres let out a screach too!

Cheers all,

Pete.

Aye Pete I went in there a bit "hot"

Still the scoob stopped no probs and fortunately I could see the road was clear so it was less of a drama than it looked

I reckon 5/10 on the shake-a-rama!

Yup, just got in. I was well and truly lost, so just kept following whoever was in front ;-)

Thanks for the help onto the M60 Chris, I know where I am from there.

Pitchblack: As I said, your exhaust spurts flames when you change gear. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it sure looks COOL! :-)

I'll be happy to pass my mobile number on, just let me know whose email to send it to.

Anyway, really enjoyed myself. I think the local "boy racers" on the McD's carpark were amazed!

Hope I can make next time and yes, lets pre-plan a route and a couple of stop points.

Cheers and Thanks again Chris.

alright fellas, really good drive tonight. shame we got split up, the road where we shot up the hill was mega, loads of tught and fast turns!! watching pete take mahoosive air over the hump back bridge (all four wheels off!!) was the best bit. it looked awesome, like he was on a rally stage:

ill be happy to give out my mobile no.

i think the idea of having a route is a good idea, and a stallion of an idea for the pub stop!!!

gav..

Double hairy brake fade coming back down snake pass but home in 1 bit with a big smile. Nice one!!! :0) def down for the next one.

Up bright and early with the lark!
Sounds to me like we all had a good time last night, despite scattering to all 4 corners of derbyshire.
Ok, Madscientist, can you sort out a route for the next one, or maybe come round to mine one evening and we can look over a map?
Everyone else, can you email me your mobile numbers, and I will make a list, send me details of your real names and cars as well, that way we'll know who it is for sure. Maybe even registrations, that might be easier.
I wouldn't be able to make a meet next wednesday night, as I am having some much needed advanced driving tuition, from a guy that taught Richard Burns how to drive!
But if you guys want to go out anyway next wednesday, then please do so.
see you all again soon, off to work now,
have a nice day,
chris.
