Why not,do what you feel like, its for you to decide.

If you need to ask for other peoples opinions, then I think you shouldnt get one.

Ive got three, there are pictures somewhere on another thread but cant remember what it was titled, maybe someone else can?

Later Yoza

I have 3. Not commemorating my children though. My mate has a son called Beau and had that tattood just above her knicker line at the back.

My most recent is one in the same place - I really like it and think that spot is very sexy on men too.

Oh, and when Im old and wrinkly I wont be showing off my **** anyway

You know Yoza... its a personal thing. People dont have the right to personally attack someone for having them, nor do they have the right to be rude with their opinions

We are all unique which is what makes us so intriguing

Question

I wonder if anyone who has them, and who doesn't actually regret them (which isn't many!) would like to tell us why on earth they 'Think' they look good??

I have never seen a tattoo that I thought was worth doing? BUT I am VERY interested in what tattoo wearers think is cool about them??

Pete

Its cool because it makes by body a little bit different from those that dont have them, plus they prove me to be the individual that I am in an artistic way.

Now pray tell me, what makes YOU cool for not having one? Its no different than choosing another way to be individual - such as the types of beard you carve on your face - or piercings - or fast cars! All serve one purpose, to get attention

I am the penultimate attention *****... are you?

Thanks for the answer

I can change my beard, piercings heal when you realise what a plonker you look, fast cars can be changed for slower cars as you get calmer, clothes can change throughout your life - TATTOOS tend to be rather permanent!!!!!!

I am not sure that a tattoo makes you individual?? you are FOLLOWING others who have tattoos!! I would say that those who do NOT elect to get tattooed are the ones with their OWN mind!!

Tattoos DO say something about the person wearing them, I am not sure its positive in most cases, sorry!!

Pete

Sorry, but if you are asking for an opinion on tattoos then its pretty obvious you aren't sure!
If you aren't sure, then don't do it. There are plenty of other ways for remembering kids etc which aren't so permanent on the body
I have 3 but I did think carefully about where they are on my body before having them done

In every tattoo thread I have seen you say you were made to promise not to have a tattoo. Does this mean you actually wanted one at some stage in your earlier life ... why?

In answer to the original question ... What about branding?

Cool

NO I haven't got a beard!! OR Sandals!!

I was aged about 8 when my Grandad made me PROMISE never to follow the crowd and get a tattoo ......... his made his life a misery!!

When I was about 17 I 'Thought' as one does at that age, that I might like a tattoo ........... and an earring!!! !!

The earring was easy to dismiss quickly as I am not gay!!

The tattoo idea stayed with me until I grew up and became mature enough to realise that only the childish in mind got tattoos done - luckily my Grandads words stopped me making a complete dick of myself!!

Now, that sounds interesting!!

My grandad said it was ok to let the fairer sex hold me down and do things to me!! It's been happening ever since - do you think you will be able to control yourself??

After all, I am a REAL man .............. no need for Tattoos and earrings!!

Red face

When you are 80 - he'll have NO teeth and certainly NO inclination to tear anything off near a faded, has-been, wrinkled tattoo!!

So why did you get the MX-5 instead of the earring.....surely the earring would have been a lesser priced expression for you.

LOL Pete's just in denial

I think he protests a bit too much

OK Pete, you asked the question why get a tatoo/tatoos?

Easy. Cos I wanted to, for me, because I like them. No regrets. Don't care if they look off when (if?) I get to 80. They will always be a reminder of a certain time in my life, and that will make me look back and appreciate that time.

In many cultures it is deemed normal to have tatoos, and odd not to.

Personally, I couldn't care what anyone else thinks - that is their problem or prejudice or simple right to an alternative opinion - not mine

Now, getting tattoos as a fashion accessory or because your mates have got them or because you think it makes you well 'ard..LOL.. that really is a fooking stupid thing to do, cos you probably will regret it when you are 80 and have "daisy" tattoo'd on your ****.....

Can't agree with you there......I was thinking that Pete was ready to declare undying love to me and I find this out......is this the Jerry Springer forum?

I am heartbroken.

My tattoos are for me, no one else (hence they are on my body ), they are out of the way on my butt cheeks and I spent ages selecting the tattoos so that I won't be regretting them later on.

The only thing that I will be doing is revamping the one on my right butt cheek and adding a little more scenery to make it the same size as the one on my left butt cheek as they are a little unbalanced atm.....and yes I have plenty of room.

Pete my darling, after all we have been through, don't throw it all away over something so trivial.....I could learn to live with the soft top Mx-5 honey, as long as you don't make me sit in it.....

MX5 only has two seats.
one for the left cheek, one for the right cheek.
So where will Pete sit ...

Only joking. Never seen LMW [or her cheeks ]

Good Grief, one of my very first serious girlfriends called me Petey!! GULP!! you are NOT her are you!!!!!

Can't be, she had 8 'A' levels .... wasn't about to prove that she cheated and is really a derrrrrrrrrrr brain by getting tattooss!!

If you had one butt on each seat in the MX-5 I shudder to think where the Gearknob might disappear!!

I hazard a guess that it would take the hospital 3 months to wipe the smile off your face??!!

You DO know I love ya' still don't ya'?? It would take more than a likkle slip of the senses like getting a tattoo to make us fall out!!

Tattoos go with Gold Wheels and Earrings on the male gender (I won't say MAN Cos REAL men don't wear earrings, do they??!!)

See you around.
