It depends on what you define big as motor wise.
Most new discoveries tend to be doing something existing in a new manner or with different technologies. If you adopt the "It works, why change it" we'd get techological stagnation very quickly.
I can see that no-one is going to be won over by my comments.

simple, by a cig lighter to plug convertor. (12v to 240v) plug in hairdryer, attach hairdryer to engine..... easy 
ps. make sure to press the cool air button on the hairdryer!
