Sounds bad! No I hope not really. I'm sure I saw a post on here the other day about a guy who had changed his for no reason and was offering one for nowt.
Have you took it out and had a good look at it.
I don't no much about MAF's on Scoobys but I do no that the industrial equivalents I deal with (Big things costing about 4K) on a daily basis do suffer from dust and dirt getting in em which affects the readins and so the control
Might be worth a look. I might drop mine out and have a look after me tea

Scooby Si, for you mate

They have been quite gentle actually, probably because no one can prove that the MAF is failing because of something I've done or indeed if my car was Gauged and sensored to the hilt, It probably would still have happened.

S G - I think there will be well over 20 for the meet, but not sure how many for the show until the day.
If you mail my profile I will send you the details. That will give you a clue due to the number of people on my mailing list

******WARNING******
PLEASE take note boys and girls
All those travelling up the A614 from Notts/Derbys/Leics/Lincs....
The police are VERY aware of this road as a potential "break the speed limit area" and although you might feel tempted to go above 60mph as the road it nice and twisty and overtake the slower cars around please be VERY careful.
The 614 is a bikers heaven as well and we DON'T want any problems reguarding Scoobies getting a bad rep with the Police
The plods will be well aware of Thoresby and will no doubt have lots of mobile units around with little men and radar guns.
Lets keep it safe
Simon

Steve,
Turns out that my idle control solenoid was sticking! Got home, took it off, popped a bit of grease on that bad boy, back on and jobs a gudgeon!
Basically, when you take your foot off the accelerator, an ECU derived signal goes to this solenoid. Mine was sending the signal but the solenoid was not moving smoothly, the ECU was then registering that things were not as they should be and adjusting the fuelling accordingly. This caused the revs to drop. Again the ECU (or something ) would register this and pop a bit more fuel in because it thought it was going to stall!. This resulted in a flare of revs, Again the ECU would go "Whoa there" and reduce the fuelling, causing the revs to drop and so it went on UNTIL the solenoid became unstuck and returned to it's proper position. Because the solenoid was "Sticky" as opposed to stuck, this only happened intermittently, hence the MAF failing symptoms.
It all makes logical sense to me and it has worked for me
Kev...............To Fcukin right

Nice to see such a good turnout and sooooo many nice looking scoobs
not to mention a 300zx and RS Focus !
Pity about that bloody traffic, bloody criminal.
Laugh of the day besides all the puzzled admiring looks, especially in that bloody long queue to the show was from a man in a cavalier with a back seat full of kids, and I quote:
"There must be a scooby-doo convention in the area somewhere" LMFAO !!!!!
Must have heard us for miles and what about that prat in the Porsche 944 - U R A *** !!!!
Skoosh - white wagon.
