I'm going to Thorsbey on Sunday so maybe see you all there. New to this game so excuse the daft question, where will all the Derbys/Notts lads be parked up and how do I recognise you? Will you chaps (& chapesses) be wearing a white carnation in your lapels and carrying a folded copy of the Times under your arm?

Looking a lot less likely I'll make it now, would I still be welcome if I drove my Dad's V*u*h**l C*r*a (automatic)?
It hasn't got any M*x P*w*r bits added (honest)

Tony..

I don't think anybody would mind what you drove to the meet considering what happened to the scoob....

sh*t Tony, what's happened?

plus, don't worry about being the only VX racer there, I doubt my Scoob will be well in time and my mates 300ZX is looking less likely also.

i managed to get Scoob running reasonably well and without any overheating problems at the weekend for a short period before it regressed to its sad state again (tho not as bad as the day you saw it). i will attempt a n other fix before 29th June, but i hold out little hope

therefore, it looks like I will be in my Cavalier.. perhaps we can form a 2 car sub Scooby Vauxhall convoy and bring up the rear

hope whatever is up with your car ain't too bad.

Kev, have a look in Scoobynet General - the full story is in there. Short version - it was stolen last Friday (13th), and today (Wed) it's been recovered. Needs a few repairs though. Next time I see you, I'll fill you in with all the details.
Hope yours gets better soon.

Tony,

Sorry to here that dude. Fortunately the little scallywags that broke into mine were only after (and took) my CD head unit. They were either disturbed (Ikea car park) or too dumb *** to look in the boot for the changer.

Needless to say, I can stand the loss of the head unit and the damage to the dash... all replaceable for about £150. In fact, since Sam currently works for Audi, her supplier can get the next head unit up the range for £125, which is good value me thinks.

Depending on what you need.. it may be worth a look at these guys:

Another possibly useful site is www.breakersweb.co.uk

Apparentley, you submit your request for a part and several breakers/suppliers mail you back with prices if they have it.

Kev

PS - on initial investigation it appears that they do charge you for the service and return info via text.

Question

So Steve/Mikey,

Have we now got definitive meeting/resting places sorted? Comming from my new abode does mean that I am actually near to the Jap show, but I can meet anyone from Nottingham, who is going to the clock from the start.

Cheers,

Kev

Just to let you know that I will be speakinh with Mikey tomorrow hopefully to thrash out the plan for next weekend, but it is likely that the start point will be the Clock warehouse, followed by a drive to the Seven Mile Pub on the A614. From there people can decide if they would like to stay there for a meal or drive onto the show or do both.

There is also the opition for staying at the Clock Warehouse for those that don't want to travel to the show.

I think this should then suit all, with a return to a normal meet in a couple of months once the shows are coming to a end for the summer.

Watch your e-mail this week folks

Steve
