Very poor mate, very poor.

I think you may mean that you dislike my forthright assertions and would prefer them not to be voiced... well, that is the modern 'PC' way... but it is not mine

I was, in fact, referring to the fact that your technique for answering a simple question to a rather sweeping comment was poor. Whether or not your assertions are forthright or not is not in debate here, nor is it of any concern.

Remember I told you about the 'snake hips' thing?
Well the guy in this thread will tell you straight... he had no chance of catching this car... you are on the smae forum... ask the guy what it feels like... we at the Soarer club know how to cure this 'snake hips' fault... I can almost guarantee that this car ran 255/40 on 9½" rear rims... he is very likely to have a Torsen but in the wet it is not essential...

50mph feels much faster than 50mph in either the Skyline or the Soarer... it is that phenomena that has kept many a Supra driver alive. They are slower, but feel faster... you will be grateful for that the first big snake-up you get... I'll log this thread and keep an eye open on the MKIV site for your first '**** I nearly lost it last night' message... by December of this year you will have scared yourself due to its faulted and well documented snake-hips...
###
That from page 3 of this thread... now remember, mergeing with fast traffic shouldn't be dangerous, the guy in the thread was not thrashing into the traffic he was mergeing... even in the wet this shouldn't result in that sort of problem...

Mycroft,
Get a life. Why are you even bothering to hang around here and the muppets lair? Every thread I see on this forum has you chirping in about something or other. I certainly have better things to do, and you're supposed to be worth £1500 a day, so your posts must be costing you a fortune!
I rarely agree with you, but the whole 'get mycroft' thing has gone bananas. There is a life away from BBSs.

Pavlo...
I have a very nice life thank-you... your concern has been noted.
I must admit I was surprised and slightly depressed to find that this slight damp spell has resulted in what I predicted... to be right all the time is sometimes a little depressing... you wouldn't know... you'll just have to take my word for it...
Try to avoid agreeing with me... it is, for the most part, a thankless stance and I don't really show much appreciation either.
£1500 is my fee... cheap too.
Pepper...
Have you ever captured a Bee in a jar?
He gets quite p!ssed doesn't he!.. then he calms down and is less entertaining... so you shake the jar... and that thing is real fvcking angry now isn't it... and that is fun... I shake the jar and all the little Bees go mad... endlessly funny...
You and your like are my busy little Bees and the internet is my jar.
Where is that Ian Callum PDF link?
I haven't seen it yet... hahaha

Mycroft, you are no longer contributing to this thread along the lines of the topic. Can you please edit your last post with the picture or I'll ask the mods to do it.
This thread was about the R33 and Supra and my decision. I've driven both made my decision and am happy with it, fully aware of all the pro's and cons and thus do not need things to keep being regurgitated. Theres no way in hell I'd drive a Soarer, it just doesn't float my boat like I said and you accepted right at the start of this thread, therefore this car does not need to keep being brought up in this thread. Which leaves the Sky and Supe - to which I've made my decision and am happy with it.
Thanks for reading.

The Supra your getting looks lovely! Nice choice!
A test drive is the ONLY way to know, most of the opinions were assumptions. Supra all the way (IMHO)!!!!!
Mycroft, still reading the Supra site? Why?
Also, you being so rich, why the crappy Soarer? It's a poor-mans car for a start, Scoobys, EVOs, Skylines and Supras are much more expensive? Can't afford one?
BTW, loved the PM you sent me on SupraForums, looks like you got very angry my little bee!!!

Please, please keep this on topic. If you want to have a pop at each other why not do it soemwhere else (not on SN) or face to face - perhaps organise a meet

I lived in Frome for a few years. Not only did I never see a Soarer there, I can assure you MyCroft would be rather 'surprised' at the reception he'd receive there if his internet persona reflects his real one

Being lucky enough to own both a bayside R34 Vspec Skyline and
a 6speed vvti Supra id say im in a good position to comment
on both cars.
For day to day use, id pick the supra. Its more fun and more rewarding to drive , its got *MUCH* more low down torque,
which, for road use is a real bonus. It is however, CRAP in the wet !
The skyline has much more "street cred" , the reaction I get from
other people is incredible.
The skyline is also the best handling car I have ever driven,
(even better than my old evo5) nothing I have been in corners at speed like a skyline - an 85mph bend in the supra is a 95mph bend in the skyline - no understeer or oversteer at all - its incredible (even if it does feel "computer controlled").
Another big advantage of the Skyline is the way it puts its power down - 600bhp+ and no wheelspin - fantastic - a genuine 600bhp supra will spin the wheels in 1st/2nd/3rd !!
At high speed the Skyline is amazingly stable, far more than the supra.
Build quality - the supra wins here by quite a margin.
Running costs - supra wins again.
Well, IMHO the Skyline and Supra are both incredible cars,
for me the Skyline wins *JUST*.

That was a great post Justin, very balanced and fair From what you've put in it though, the Supra wins it for me again, as will be a daily driver used more often than not in heavier traffic.
One thing I would say though, is you are comparing an R34 against the VVTi Supra, which are both slightly different to the R33 and 1993 GZ which I tried. I'd say that in model terms there is more diff between the R33 and R34 models of the Skyline than the GZ and VVTi of the Supra though. That aside however, thats a great reasoned post with some good points.
Cheers
Neil
(R34 may beckon in a few years though )

Cheers Neil.
I can tell you now, you will absolutely love
your new supra, I have owned and driven some of
the best performance cars on this planet over
the last couple of years and the mkiv supra would
still make my all time top 3 !!!!
