God reading this, I need a lie down !

Its all got a bit terratorial, I cant cope with all this posturing like a troop of Randy Baboons.

Mycroft, I quite like the look of the green Soarer, why is it all the ones I see look a little sad and are painted in some godawful pearlescent white or beige ?

Also nice to see you are carrying on the noble tradition of Imatrukahs and Cossie before you, its boring without "Characters"

Keep up the good work !

Soarer review, this is for the much slower V8 models... but it rates as 22points...

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2272.htm

Same review group... Supra TT ... it only gets 16points...

To answer the original question, yes, I've driven one. Thought it was a barge to be honest.

Mycroft
Solve this problem. J-spec sup , MINES ecu,SBC-ID,S-AFC,550 inj, walboro pump, adj reg,
if i let it boost more than 1.2 bar it pinks like ****, if the cams are timed right can i presume that it is because the MINES ecu is mapped for 100 ron fuel and if this is so how can i mix my fuel so as i can run more boost .

Mycroft, seeing as it has all that technology, does it talk to you in a slightly camp English accent and insist on calling you Michael ?

Knight Rider yeah?... I don't watch TV much, but I suspect that was supposed to be funny... yeah?

Didn't do anything for me.

How's the Baboon thread going?...

If the Mines ECU is anything like the Subaru Mines ECUs, they are well advanced on the ignition front, and certainly mapped for 100ron fuel (or higher).

I have had to knock out about 4-5 degrees out of a Mines map to make it suitable to UK fuel. That said, this is on a car with an awful intercooler (pre97 slanted impreza).

Don't turn the boost up!

MINES make modded units and a 'drive-in' type service where the car ECU remains substantially the same but is slightly re-programmed... with the latter set-up... the 'remove the ECU fuse/ disconnect the battery' to re-set the ECU is the exactly wrong thing to do. On Toyotas the 're-setting' trick works only if the original ECU is untouched... any mods to the ECU [such as the MINES settings] and that will zero the settings... they are recoverable... I did [again] post this on the MKIV site a year ago... they have a search facility... so long as the info hasn't been wiped then... ½ hrs work will see the car performing as MINES intended.

Use the search facility and type... 'resetting MINES'... that should find it.

Just had a look and my thread has been deleted... so you are out of luck mate...

Claudius, get your evo out and ill race you for a decent amount of cash at any circuit you want , trouble is i will be on a GSXR1000 and you wont even see it for long enough to wonder what happened.
I think you will find that bikes will lap slower than a decently driven Evo on most tight UK circuits.

I dont know about that, but if the Evo is good and the track is twisty, there wont be much in it as long as there are two decent straights. If there arent, the biker will be in trouble.

It's all about having the right vehicle fopr the right application.

What are typical lap times at, say, Cadwell Park, for a GSX-R and an Evo? I would guess they are about the same...

True, lee; I guess it was in fact LMWXR not staying on topic by telling us to stay on topic when we were, right?

In fact, there are two topics in here, one being the soarer and one being troll's evo vs GSX-r stuff. But dont tell LMWRX, 2 topics in one thread is confusing to her LOL

Dunno about cadwell only been once but ive done snet in 1.18 on a 1000cc twin, mate of mine died at cadwell on wednesday he got round a bit quicker than me 1.30's but there was some oil down which made us take a dodgy line into the bend at the bottom of the mountain , he drove into a slow moving bike on the fast back straight , RIP.

As thread starter... I have no problem with a little banter about the Motorbike-vs-Motorcar thing... I have issued a simple challenge to any biker... and all have had the sense to steer clear... so LMWRX please don't worry on my behalf... I can just about multi-task... I'm a bloke and blokes can do that!

Sorry, cant see it happening, big Jap luxo barge beating any bike around a circuit, any bike includes blades, R1's, Gixxers and all manner of mental one offs, pretty bold claim. I dont own a bike but I have ridden/pillioned on a few and I have never been in a car thats quicker than a standard CBR 600 from a standstill, never mind Blades and R1's. I would imagine that your car is quick being as it has circa 400 bhp but it is also heavy, I have seen a Diablo dispatched with ease by a Hayabusa so I cant imagine yours would be a problem even allowing for the fact that car owners hang onto the factr that a bike isnt as quick through corners, I think it depends on skill and the advantage is only in slower corners.

Still would love to be proved wrong.
